Pours deep brown with a medium tan head. Aroma has sweet caramely/roastiness and bourbon. Flavor is very bourbony and sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but the finish is bourbony and very pleasantly warming. Mittenator (1612) - Michigan, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Similar aromas as arcadia's other barrel aged offerings (cereal killer and shipwreck porter). I wish I could buy a candle that smells like this. Deep vanilla, caramel, wood and chocolate flavors. jtw (1170) - farmington, Michigan, USA - FEB 1, 2013
12 oz bottle (with an annoying red wax seal) which pours dark and black, with a small amount of head surfacing but quickly retreating to the edges of the glass. rich and bold, with caramel and roasted aromas and with a deep sniff, green woody hops. subdued bourbon effects, with some oak and light vanilla apparent but it clearly didn’t spend ages in barrel. i think i prefer it this way, rather than the all-too-common method of over-barreling as it preserves more of the beer’s original character. a little heavy alcohol heat, but overall a very nice beer. at a pricey $8.99 however, this one should be shared. Bottle says 12%. new batch.
Looks thin, no legs, finger of head. oak tannins thin this out in the flavor and palate feel. vanilla and lite off hershey chocoalte. Not very good. Hollywoodt (241) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Thanks to Tmac220 for sharing this with me! Bottle. Poured a deep, dark brown with minimal brown head. Aroma was bourbon with perhaps a little caramel and coffee. The flavor followed with some good chocolate in there, as well. This was very good. Get in my belly!!

Poured black with minimal head. Bourbon smell with some vanilla notes. Not too smooth but not that harsh. I would call this this a sophmore bourbon stout for those getting into the genre. Does not have the depth of your KBS/BCBS, which, excuse the analogy, would be varsity. rxeight (3344) - Illinois, USA - JAN 19, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2013 Black pour barely any head. Bourbon aroma not too harsh or overpowering. Taste is mild bourbon but slightly heavy on the vanilla side compared to most. Sort of a sour cherry note on the back end. A really good beer but i think it’s below average for a bourbon stout. Underjoath (10) - - JAN 16, 2013
Bottle - Pours a deep black with thin fizzy tan head. Smells roasty malt with faint bourbon scent. A sweet malty and again, a faint bourbon presence start it off before falling off completely to a bitter aftertaste. Not as complex as I had hoped after being a big fan of their Shipwrecked BBPorter. mikem409 (2032) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JAN 14, 2013
bottle. pours black thin tan head. aroma of molasses and some chocolate no barrel on nose. taste has a slight cherry note with lots of roasted malt. almost no barrel flavor for being aged 24 months. BA cereal is way better BellsFan (49) - Michigan, USA - MAR 1, 2008
Probably the strongest Stout I’ve had. Not just dark, but black. First you taste the bourbon from the barrel, then you taste the stout, next comes the coffee flavor. Not bad a beer but it goes down with a kick.
