AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jtw (1170) - farmington, Michigan, USA - FEB 1, 201312 oz bottle (with an annoying red wax seal) which pours dark and black, with a small amount of head surfacing but quickly retreating to the edges of the glass. rich and bold, with caramel and roasted aromas and with a deep sniff, green woody hops. subdued bourbon effects, with some oak and light vanilla apparent but it clearly didn’t spend ages in barrel. i think i prefer it this way, rather than the all-too-common method of over-barreling as it preserves more of the beer’s original character. a little heavy alcohol heat, but overall a very nice beer. at a pricey $8.99 however, this one should be shared.
slowrunner77 (13912) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 12, 2014Strong barrel influence. Graham cracker, vanilla, bourbon, roast and coffee. A little bit of earthy hops in the flavor. The alcohol shows but it’s not hot for a 12% beer. Not worth double the coin of a Central Waters BB stout, but solid. Thanks the ggrumet for the trade!"
alexsdad06 (11711) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 16, 2014Bottle sample at tasting from backlog notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige film. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, chocolate, mild bourbon notes, vanilla, pretty basic stuff, not, great but not bad either.
DrewFace (970) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - DEC 20, 2013Pours a deep dark blackish color. Sweet aroma, some barrel and whiskey like notes, vanilla, almost a peanut/nutty character as well. Very sweet in the flavor as well, more of the sweet nutty almost to a point of being tart character. Alcohol is present. Not sure about this one.
Experiment_Ale (1098) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 4, 201312oz bottle at my place with Taylor Thomas and Scott. Pours black with grey lacing that lasts. Aroma of bourbon with a sterol edge. Taste is bourbon and vanilla. Finish is long with bourbon. Good beer

Jasond612 (282) - Phila, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 25, 20137/25/13 bottle given to me by Mike (from Michigan) first bottle drank from the pro/am trade. Not a bad barrel aged stout. Hates the wax bottle cover. Nice bourbon. Lots of chocolate taste in the front then roll in the booze

ICEatALAMO (1361) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JUN 13, 2013Bottle. The pour is almost black. The aroma is strong of bourbon and sweetness. The taste is milder on the bourbon than the smell. Drinks a little thin, but good, not great. An easy to drink bourbon impy.
jcartamdg (3539) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 15, 2013Pours black with no head. Aroma of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Taste is boozy, lots of bourbon and vanilla. A bit medicinal on the finish. Thin body. Not bad but not great.

jhulett (12) - Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 29, 2013Everything I look for in a bourbon stout, except the body is too thin. Nice heavy bourbon taste. I look forward to more offerings like this from Arcadia. I bought a second bottle to age, but I have a feeling I will drink it before it gets too old.
48FanInCali (857) - California, USA - MAR 27, 2013Bottle. A little underwhelming. I was expecting a bit more given how good Shipwrecked and BA Cereal Killer are. All the usual suspects in the taste and nose. Light on vanilla and fairly thin. Had this a few beers into the day so maybe the palate was a little off but I don't think this one will improve with age.
