12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. The body is very dark red brown and clear but nearly opaque in the glass. Aroma: Almost completely dominated by bourbon and bourbon barrel aromatics. Very woody and boozy. Flavor: also dominated by the bourbon barrels. The woody aromas were very strong, these didnt much impair the aroma; but I normally find even less barrel flavor to detract from beers. Not so here. Still, this is a beer only for those who like low ABV aged bourbons. Of course, for a beer this is quite boozy, although the 12% alcohol is partially hidden in tasting.

Pours black with very thin brown head. Light carbonation, lots bourbon and vanilla in the nose. Flavor is smooth but thin on flavor. Lots of bourbon, not much beer. Drinkable though.

Dark brown color. Off white head. Slightly sour nose with lots of bourbon and some chocolate malt. Fairly nice sweet mouth with decent alcohol burn and bourbon. Decent but fairly straight forward. Good.

A very good bourbon barreled porter. Almost more milk stout. Pours a deep black with a brown head. Smells of bourbon, vanilla and a hint of strawberry shortcake. Taste is similar, very milky and smooth. Bourbon and vanilla are well balanced, with more strawberry shortcake and a bit of coffee in the finish. Had in the bottle.

Bottle. Intoxicating aroma of bourbon, malt, coffee, chocolate and mud. Taste is far more dark coffee than chocolate. Bitter? Meh not so much. Just dark and boozy. Fun shit.

Willrunforbeer struggling to remove the wax off the top of the 12 oz. Bottle, why are brewers still waxing bottles? It does nothing to keep out air *sigh* anyhow, is straight up Rye whiskey, no hiding that. Nothing but whiskey. The flavor has a weaker note of whiskey then the aroma was leading me to believe. Roast, chocolate and integrated barrel. Body is what you find for Porter, a tad thin. But the flavor is very nice.
