12oz bottle came as an extra from Suchy. Thanks! Pours a transparent copper amber with some clumpy, slightly off white head. Nose is malty, cooked corn, brown sugar, caramel, some ripe pear, orange zest. Flavor is well balanced, caramel, cracker, biscuit, brown sugar, grapefruit rind, thick pine tar, birch sap. 2010 vintage, bought at the supermarket of all places. Poured a ruddy, hazy brown with little to no head. Aroma was sweet and fruity. Taste up front was the same - sweet. I liked that initial fruity flavor. On the back end it was malty with some bitterness, but not hoppy. Perhaps it was alcohol burn or something. Definitely English style, had a hint of Samuel Smiths aftertaste...kinda sorta...if anybody knows what I’m talking about. Good beer. 2011 bottle poured to snifter. Hazy red color with slight head. Fruity nose; a bit too much sherry on the palate for my taste. Very smooth and mild without any booziness of a 10 percent ABV.

Flavor adds grass, alcohol and caramel. dry. moderate to high sweet and moderately bitter. needs to be paired with moist cake or juicy red meats. This was an unexpected surprise. My favorite local store couldn’t sell these for $16/4-pack so they put them in their "make your own 6 pack for $9.99" rack., and I picked up a couple. Undated 12 oz bottle pours a slightly hazy but deep garnet brown color with beige head and some good lacing. Aroma is full of brown sugar, butterscotch, prunes, rwisins, and toffee. Body is medium to full with average carbonation. Taste is sweet with a slightly boozy finish. Somewhat oxidized, a bit sugary, brown sugar, light cardboard, a bit fruity aroma. Somewhat strong, moderately boozy, brown sugar, toffee, dark fruity flavor with some booze on the finish. (3.5) Tried against the 2010 vintage thanks to Steve. Sweeter in the nose than the 2009. Flavor is a bit more caramel, toffee taste. Not my favorite beer, a little boozy but drinkable. Aromas of prunes, fermented grapes, light booze and light malt. Appearance is deep brown with a thin team had of mostly larger bubbles. Taste is nice, light and smooth. The smoothest 10act I have ever had. Starts with a fruity sweetness of grapes and then mild booze with malt. 2009 and 2010 bottles. They poured a deep reddish brown color with a light brown head. The aromas were a bit of alcohol, malts and brown sugar. The tastes were sweet with brown sugar and a bit of alcohol. Not bad.
