COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in tradition of Englishstyle barley wines, Cereal Killer offers an explosion of full-bodied, liquid goodness. Robust malty flavors converge with caramel, toffee, molasses and dark fruit notes to produce a remarkably complex yet palate-pleasing beer. Its intense malt character is complemented by a subtle citrus finish from the hops. With cellar-aging Cereal Killers flavor evolves further, developing a sherry-like aroma and flavor similar to a cask-aged port. Winner of the Gold Medal for Wood and Barrel-Aged Strong Beers at 2009 GABF.

Bottle 2010: pours brown with no head to speak of, aroma of caramel, flavor is caramel with a lot of sweetness, alcohol content evident, too much sweetness for balance, hard to finish this one.

Bottle. Turbid, rusty-amber pour, medium off-white head with decent retention. Nose is sticky candy, stone fruit, figs, caramel, melon. Mouth is big and oily, medium bitterness cutting through a large sweet palette of caramel, fruit (oranges, figs, dates). Long day so Im not really doing this justice, but its a decent barleywine and Tony the tiger should be proud to share his town with Arcadia. Theyre great!

Bottle from tavour vintage 2017. Pours a dark amber color. Nice for the style. Caramel is the outstanding flavor with some faint licorice and grape musT maybe a bit of vinegar. Quite nice on this young bottle.

A very nice barleywine. Pours a deep red with a tan head. Smells great, cereal and lots of strawberries and other berries. Taste is very berry fruit, strawberries, and bright candy, and cereal. Fizzy, bright, smooth finish. Paired with spicy shrimp stacks, the fruitiness is cut down a bit. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is malty, caramel and a little molasses. Pours a cloudy dark brown/copper with an off white head mostly diminishing and excellent lacing. The taste is sweet and then a little bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish long. Overall not bad, Ive been frowning on barleywines of late, so this would probably be rated higher if I was more into barleywines.

Sample 7/19/14 (Naperville Ale Fest)-Pours a darker brown with almost no head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, dark fruits, and roasted malt. Taste of the same with a bit of vanilla coming in. This medium bodied brew was not bad maybe a bit thin but still somewhat tasty.
