now how many people bought this for the name or label? i wonder, anyway to the review ... 2006: aged 2 years ... rum, chocolate, cherry, aged oak in the nose ... lots of dark fruits, honey, cherry skins in the teeth and tongue department ... great looking beer, good hot cocoa head ... mellowed still has ’the LooK’ (40 games, that’s 80 looks) ... a real nice barleywine that has aged quite nicely ... Cereal Killer pours a dark plumb with a wet sandy brown head that lasts a good while. The aroma is malt heavy with caramel, molasses and grape standing out. The flavor is dark fruit, grape, molasses and a hint of citrus. This is a very interesting and delicious beer.

Arcadia Cereal Killer Barleywine
22 oz bomber
Medium pour in a tulip glass
Recent brewing, murdered 12/06
Poured a clear brown, with red highlights, with an average light brown quickly diminishing fizzy head with a tiny ring of lacing.
Smelt of strong bananas, pineapple, apples, pears. Hell,it smelt like a fruit salad. Lots of moderate spices and caramel in the background.
Taste was upfront strong but soft bitter spruce and sweet nectarines and pears, with moderate spices followed by a strong nutty, bark and roasted grain with a bitter pine hops with light toffee on a long dark bread and bitter grapefruit rind finish. Palate was medium to full bodied, creamy, softly carbonated with prickling tiny bubbles, moderately astringent and moderately alcoholic, both of the latter on the follow-through.
Overall, a mellow fun drinking barleywine style ale. Starts off smooth and the bite creeps in nicely on the finish. Yeah! sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 13, 2007
22oz bomber. Dark ruby red with a filtered body and spiraling white head. Cola caramel malt aromas. Also aromas of tart red fruits. Full bodied with a sweet malt flavor. Nice noticeable burn. Sticky long sweet candy finish. Red berry notes, like raspberries and strawberries. Vanilla and caramel. Nice flavor. Nice and full. Long and lingering finish. Notes of pruney cola and dried fruits. Very well done! ross (2146) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - JAN 17, 2007
2006 bottle from Steve. Thanks! Pours out a dark very clear reddish color with a tan head. Smell is dominated by fruits and some slight hop flavors. Some cherry notes and dark fruits come through as it warms a little bit. No detection of alcohol in the nose. Taste is sweet and fruity with a little bit of a hop presence just enough to give it a bitter flavor. Great stuff really, very drinkable, probably a permanent beer on my want list now. Thanks Steve. beerslayer (753) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 11, 2007
