COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This remarkably balanced brew has a deep amber hue with a generous white head. Hopmouth showcases a rich, toasty flavor and sweet caramel notes because of the high-quality Maris Otter malt used. The hops are up front in the aroma, reminiscent of citrus and pine, while the resin-like flavors linger well after the last sip.

Bottle from Super Saver. Pours hazy deep copper with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of huge fruity piney hops, caramel malt, tropical fruit (honeydew, canteloupe, tangerine) and black pepper. The flavor starts piney hoppy and tropical fruity, with the malt coming in at the end, and the malt giving more way to the hops as it warms, which causes this to get a tad bittery piney and unbalanced at the end. If you are a hophead, you will love this one.

Bottle. Big sweet, hoppy, piney nose that reminds me of Pine-Sol. Dark honey body with a patch of bubbles. Taste-medium to high bitterness, lightly metallic, dirty tasting, green olive, light apple. The malt profile is kind of thin, but the hops are not so over the top that it doesnt work. Almost a really good balance. Not too sweet or cloying like so many IIPAs. Very enjoyable.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2007 Tall, dark, and handsome is this one. Smooooooth. I would guess this is half as strong as it is. It has a brilliant hop balance. So drinkable for something at 8%. You wake up in the morning and burp hops!

Bottled. Pours a deep orange with an off white head. Aroma is strong thick and syrupy grape fruit, orange, and some light lemon. A tinge of sweetness as well lodged in there. Flavor is masterfully malty with a strong grape fruit flavor. The orange/lemon shine through but are still dominated. The finish is a sweeter citrus. Body is big and syrupy.

Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA is a hazy amber ale with a dense, off-white head that has great lacing and retention. It has a piney aroma. It is medium bodied, soft and foamy, with a clean finish. It’s a little sweet, juicy, citrusy, resiny and piney. It has good balance. A great IPA!

Crack the cork and the hop hits you. Pours a dense, slightly hazy, amber glow. The nose provides a sweet, citrusy, hop. Sets the anticipation. 1 inch off-white head. Medium body with very evident bitterness. My palate is clean! The ale is well balanced with crisp hops, citrus notes and sweet malt. Well developed Belgian lace. Delicious. The hop notes are high but not overpowering. This ale is an excellent aperitif, as it piques the appetite. I will reach for this one again.

Pours a deep murky shade of copper with a small, faint head. Aroma of hops, peaches, and caramel. Grapefruit, bourbon (with plenty of alcohol heat), with a hoppy floral finish. Smooth with little carbonation, and plenty of bitterness. I really like this IIPA. It has a lot going on, while featuring the hops, instead of overloading on them.
