This spiced amber-wheat ale is our celebration of the arrival of Autumn. Using the finest malted barley and a small amount of wheat for mouthfeel, Jaw-Jacker displays a brilliant orange-amber color, despite the absence of pumpkin in the recipe. The addition of cinnamon, all-spice and nutmeg (in the exact proportions of a family pumpkin pie recipe) creates a refreshingly spicy, season brew.

aroma of a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is a nice cinnamon sugar with a bit of a spice aftertaste. One of the better pumpkin beers.

Pours a clear orangish brown in color. A little bit of spice in the aroma but not overpowering. Taste is a little thin with some fall spice flavors but nothing out of the ordinary. Somewhat disappointing.

It’s nutmeg and water. That’s it. The aroma fools you. High Aroma that is spiced and warm. The flavor was weak. It was low at first, water and ale had no taste. Then you get a nutmeg taste, that’s it. Like you licked the spoon or something. Palate is watery. Color is decent. Tap

Aroma is pumpkin and nutmeg. Rich orange color. It has a strong nutmeg, and allspice taste. Not much else.

On tap @ Radio Maria. Deep golden amber, average white head. Spicy pumpkin aroma and flavour, medium sweetness, bready undertones.

12 oz bottle poured into a lager glass. Jaw-Jacker pours a cloudy apricot bronze with a thin beige head that doesn’t last long. The aroma is pumpkin and spice. The flavor is also pumpkin and spice. Overall this beer is average. The spice is muddled although it is decent with the pumpkin.

Draft at the stone street tavern on stone street . Pours light tan color with a very sweet aroma. Very artificial pumpkin pie flavor. Eh

2oz taster on tap, at HopCat Broad Ripple. Clear golden orange color. Thin off-white kind of creme-coloured head. Full sheet of lace. Great floral, kind of spicy, mildly citrusy aroma. Definitely get nutmeg, reminiscent of a pumpkin beer. Moderate sweet, light to moderate sweet, kind of spicy. Solid, interesting stuff. I can dig it.

b3shine (8937) - Indiana, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Draft to taster at Arcadia in Kalamazoo. Looks good for the style; a fairly transparent orange with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of pumpkins nutmeg with a bit of citrus from the hops. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced, and zestier. Average on the palate with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Solid, but smells better than it tastes.
