COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our tribute to the Scottish-Highlands, this beer offers a gorgeous garnet color joined by the aroma of ripe plums and freshly-baked biscuits. The rich, full-bodied texture reveals notes of roasted chestnuts and caramel in the smooth single-malt style brew. Balanced with just the right amount of hop character, this beer delights with crisp alcohol finish.

I’m 90% sure this uses sugar to attain a higher alcohol level -- it just doesn’t taste like it relies on natural maltiness. Still, Arcadia’s version is an ok beer that still exhibits plenty of caramel maltiness and even a touch of hops. Very dark chestnut color with minimal head but rich body. Recommended, but this is "a world apart" from anything actually produced in Bonny Scotland, as Brits from any of the provinces tend to avoid adding sugar (which is one of the reasons most of their beers are 4.5% or lower but taste great!) But this one would specifically qualify as a nice Winter warmer, for it has a certain cold-weather blankety softness in its sweetness and a potent stout finish -- recommended in the end. ... or should I say the Final Analysis ... maybe not, I’m gay-neutral! Just give it a try, you might like it (not GAY, this beer!)

Dark malt amber with an imbued hue of dark red producing a creamy head. Aromas hay, caramel, light toffee, candy sugar/brown sugar and some toasty/nutty. Flavors light brown sugar, light toffee/caramel, lightly nutty. Lightly sweet with just a slight roasty aftertaste. Has some subtle complexities to it that make the style.

Bottle. Aroma of caramel, metal, toast and soap. Tastes sweet and toasty and a little bitter. Medium bodied but thinnish.

Dark ale with no head and little carbonation. It has a light malty taste with some smokey notes

Torn on this. Dark fruit and mystery but a faint metallic twang ruins the finish for me.

Not much aroma. Doesn't have the harsh aftertaste of some Scotch Ales. Not my favorite beer type. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2017 It’s good, but I’m also not really impressed by it. It’s more similar to Barley wines I’ve had then scotch ales honestly.
