COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mi-Berry-Vice is Pours a clear, raspberry red hue with a rose-colored head. Candy-like aromas of tart, red raspberry and snappy wheat malt. Fruit-forward flavors of blueberry, cherry, and red raspberry sit on top of a backbone of malted wheat. The beer is lighter-bodied than it looks and finishes clean and dry, which ought to make it appeal a little more to craft-beer drinkers, since it’s not quite as sweet as you’d think.

Food Pairings: Berry pavlova, rustic fruit galette, tarts, other fruity desserts. Milky young chevre, sheep’s milk gouda, soft cheeses such as camembert. Salads, shellfish, poached salmon.

Blind tasted with 3 other fruited berliner weisses, beers were: 1. Arcadia MI-Berry Vice 2. Mikkeller San Diego Fruit Face - Raspberry Coffee / Blush 3. Fordham The 11th Sour 4. The Dudes Juicebox Series: Peach Berliner Weisse. Rater 1 rated the beers 1342, Rater 2 (ME):3412, Rater 3: 4312.

355ml bottle.Berry-hued pour. Aroma is straight up cream of wheat berry yogurt. Flavor is sweet berry, very little lacto tartness, more fruit tartness.

Post tasting thoughts:
This one was flavorful and good, but not hugely berliner-like.

Red with white head. Fruity and reminds me of a berry wine cooler. Easy drinking. Had this poured from tap at Arcadia taproom as part of a flight.

bottle. Deep hazy reddish purple with small head. Looks like a berry bomb, very nice appearance. Flavor is a bit of a letdown. Some berry presence, but mainly just bland wheat and light hops. Tartness is totally lost as is most of the sweetness. Eh.

superspak (6367) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JUN 27, 2017
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 5/23/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red/amber/light purple color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy blueberry, raspberry, cherry, plum, apricot, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of berries, bready malt, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy blueberry, raspberry, cherry, plum, apricot, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness and tangy fruit tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of blueberry, raspberry, cherry, plum, apricot, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of berries, bready malt, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/tartness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is a very nice fruited wheat ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of berries, bready malt, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink with the mildly tart/bitter/drying finish. Great balance between fruit and wheat beer flavors, with nice complimenting yeast fruitiness; and just enough earthy hops for balance. A very enjoyable offering.

10oz chalice at the Kalamazoo brewpub. Beautiful looking brew - deep brownish red with small pale pink head. Aroma dominated by mixed berry and tart fruit notes with a touch of earth. Taste is tart fresh berry mix up front transitioning to a pleasingly dry finish with clean natural fruit and faint earth emerging at the end. I was expecting something sweet and candy-like but this is refined, bursting with real tart fruit tastes. Very enjoyable brew.

chucklemation (1812) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - JUN 13, 2017
Pours a red color with a pinkish foam head. Aroma is tart fruit, largely raspberry, and almost funky. Flavor is slightly tart fruit, with some sweetness perhaps from the blueberry. Has some carbonation and a light body. This isn’t bad.

Definite berry taste, and a bit tart. Ruby color with little head. Not as sweet as some fruit beers. 6.3% ABV is reasonable.

On tap at Arcadia. Pours a deep purple red. Aroma is very sweet with lots of fruit. Long finish. Like a less sweet Berry Weiss. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Huron Room. Pours a clear deep reddish amber with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma is full of sweet berries with a backbone of sweet wheat. Flavor has lots of sweet berries with some sweet wheat underlying.
