This English-style brown ale has an alluring mahogany color capped by a rich foam head. It is brewed with six different varieties of premium malted barley, creating a robust body and delicious flavor profile featuring hints of chocolate, raisins, dates and almonds. Its ripe fruit notes and malty, sweet finish are counterbalanced by a subtle hop bitterness and aroma.

Mild nutty aroma, pours a reddish-brown with a thin white head. There’s a touch of roasted notes and a bit of sweetness, the alcohol is noticeable in this beer, which is surprising considering the low ABV. It’s light on the palate, and drinkable... but there are much better Brown ales out there.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that swiftly dissipated. Some lace, and somewhat stringy. The aroma had some sweet nuts, somewhat roasty, some dark fruits, light earthiness, some cocoa powder, woodiness, and a little bit of basement but not funky. The flavor blended all of the previously mentioned aromas together somewhat sweet with a mild roast rolling in underneath. Aftertaste was malty with the nuts and some light caramel now. Finish was semi-sweet slight sticky but acceptable. The feel was roughly medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty good brown ale that I think I could come back to.

The rare brown that really didn’t work for me. Taste isn’t bad but the aroma as weak and the finish is quite thin.

Draft at Rattle n Hum West with Brendan. Pours a deep wine red body with thin white lacing. Nose is old wet dog and grains. Mouthfeel is sweet sugar, caramel, malt, prickly hop and raisin bread. Not a big fan of this offering.

Draft @ Rattle West w James. Medium mouthfeel encompasses a taste of semi-sweet nuts. Not too overpowering. Nice.

Pours a hazy brown Amber with a frothy tan head. Aroma of dark syrup. Taste is robust and sweet with a drying bitterness in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep mahogany withe an off white head which lingers a bit.....aroma of nut, malt, slight caramel......taste is thin, heading toward sour......may have an entire bad case of beer.....second on in the case which tastes off.

Thank you Lorene and John! Cloudy brown pour, minimal head, nutty aroma, short of flavor. This was thin, light and fizzy. I look at everything though...I like the label!

markducommun (1121) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2015
Clear mahogany, light tan head. Strong honey, a bit of light grassiness. Light sweetness. Light body, a decent amount of carbonation. Longer finish. Not bad at all.

12 oz bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Medium brown, brown sugar aroma. Mild flavour, sweet, then a light hop finish.

Hmm...well, I’ll say that it sucks to start. Not as fizzy as some other Arcadias I’ve tried, which is a plus. Though still highly carbonated. Taste is unpleasant bitter, almost no malty roasted sweetness that you’d expect, and a chemical/metal aftertaste. Just nasty.
