3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a nice pale amber with thick off-white head. Aroma strong of citrus hops, slight floral, pine, grass, and malt which I cannot distinguish as rye in aroma, but becomes evident in flavor. Flavor matches well and has a nice hop bite that I really enjoy. It is a little thin otherwise, but very drinkable and enjoyable.
UPDATED: AUG 18, 2017 light citrus. soft carbonation like old coke. golden pour with decent head. Light bitter finish. easy drinking. commonmac (1265) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 26, 2017
On tap at the source. Part of the large scale brewery road trip. Unfortunate plastic cup. Price you pay to play bags outdoors. Lighter golden color with plenty of white head. Aroma is mostly citrus with maybe a hint of floral. Taste is mostly bitter but has the pleasant grainy spicy notes of rye. Bright and punchy come to mind as adjectives. Ends with a bitter aftertaste that is well executed. Very solid. Msdrbeat (780) - East Lansing, USA - MAY 18, 2017
On tap at Arcadia. Light for a rye. White head. Good punch of hops. Line and lemon.

12/23/16. On tap somewhere while home in IL for Christmas. Amber pour with a small khaki head. Toffee and rye bread, caramel and dark fruits on the aroma. Lightly sweet bready flavor, malty, caramel, rye bread. Not bad. mvp (263) - Harper Woods, Michigan, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Pours murky lemon yellow with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, floral and lemon. Light sweet flavor that finishes bitter but still seems to balance.

Bottle. Golden in colour. Very bitter resinous hops, citrus grapefruit and pine dominate over sweet toffee malts. Distinctly spicy and peppery; also rather earthy. Very dry finish. Really an IPA made with rye malt. Decent. (2010-09)

12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours moderate hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, pine, honey, light caramel, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, pine, honey, light caramel, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness and rye spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, citrus peel, pine, spicy rye, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero lingering hop/rye astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a great rye pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate rye/bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the balanced bitter/spicy flavors. Very bright on hop flavors with great rye malt balance. Still tastes pretty fresh despite no can dating. A really enjoyable offering. chucklemation (1722) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - SEP 10, 2016
Pours a hazy light copper with a foamy white head. Aroma is rye, citrus, spice, and resin. Flavor is almost tart lemon, rye, and some resin. Has a nice, smooth body with plenty of carbonation and low bitterness. Solid. markas101 (2468) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - AUG 31, 2016
