COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thunder Trail ESB stays true to our English Brewing Heritage. With a strong backbone of Maris Otter and Crystal malts, this Extra Special Bitter is balanced by earthy, spicy, English hops. Our Ringwood yeast strain imparts a dis-tinctly fruity character that is accented by dry-hopping with a modest amount if Palisade hops. We hope you enjoy this quality session ale wherever the Trail may take you.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Appearance is a hazy golden amber with a thin off-white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is a sour malty scent with a very slight citrusy scent as well. Taste is sour earthiness immediately followed by nice caramel malt. Very smooth feel. This is one is pretty easy to drink.

Cask @ The Briar Rose, JD Wetherspoons, Birmingham. Standard malty bitter aroma, clear copper coloured bitter with nice pronounced head. Taste medium to strong bitter, biscuity malts and hints of earthy hops. A good ESB, although its 5.3% on cask rather than 6%.

Cask, 5.3 % abv, shared with Finn at JDWs Briar Rose. Filmy layer blanketing the glassware. Clear amber in body appearance. Modest caramel aroma. Taste of brown malts, including moments of caramel, bread and chocolate, with some impact of berry fruit towards a drying finish. Medium bodied. Food friendly and quite alright (Birmingham 21.09.2016).

Cask @ White House, Luton
Ciemnobursztynowy, zamglony kolor. Niska, drobna, ciemnokremowa piana. W aromacie ciasteczka, biszkopty, herbatniki, karmel, toffi. W smaku podobnie plus ciemne owoce. Umiarkowane ciało, średnia pełnia. Goryczka także pośrodku z słodko-gorzkim finiszem. Słodowe, klasyczne ESB, niczego nie urywa.

Bottle from Reading BF 2016. Clear amber brown colour lasting beige head. Fresh hoppy aroma good bitterness. Lacks some malt depth but its not a bad attempt at an ESB. Some white pepper hop . A decent attempt at a ESB but lacks the malt clout

Bottle after a run. Aroma of fruits and earthy woody English hops. A medium body and no detectable alcohol heat. Smooth and easy to drink but a bit heavier than I expected an ESB to be. Could not detect much hops in the flavor.

Pretty solid beer, not too flashy. A good beer to have more than one of. Taste is good with a nice malt backbone mixed with earthy hops. Probably wont seek this one but if I run into again I know its decent.

Pour is a cloudy reddish with a average tan head. Aroma is those really nice English earthy malts and I also get a bit of grape must aroma. Flavor is another hit of earthy malt along with a fruity berry. Finish is thin but still a decent malt is left on the tongue. A bit too fruity for a traditional ESB but the earthy English maris otter malts are spot on.
