COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dinner Jacket O’Red IPA This luscious ruby-coloured ale combines bold caramel flavours of pale and melanoidin malts and the creamy texture of oats with the bracing crispness of North American hops for an unforgettable taste experience. Brewmaster’s Tasting Notes Dinner Jacket O’Red IPA is a strong Red India Pale Ale. This ruby red beer balances a strong hop profile with a lightly roasted, big malty backbone. The addition of oatmeal lends a silky smooth balance to this decidedly hoppy beer.

Bottled, from LCBO. Clear copper colour, small head.Aroma of grapefruit with some toast behind. Mid sweet with above medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Bready with grapefruit and notes of raisins. Mid bitter finish. Solid.

Gluepot (632) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 6, 2016
A slightly orange mahogany body with a thin but well laced white head. The nose has some character to it, with citrus hops, sweet malt and a touch of spice. A very tasty IPA variation. The citrus hops are juicy and flavourful, tropical elements soften it up, lightly roasted caramel malt is a hit, and a touch of spice adds to the mix. A medium body with a smooth texture. Nice one.

Can. Strawberry and scotch tape aroma with light caramel. Hazy orange copper under a lasting, white sheet. Bitter pine and scotch tape flavour with some white sugar and late bitterness. Medium light body, medium carbonation, crisp.

500ml can in a shaker glass. Pours dark amber with a tanned head. Aroma of carmel, fruits and malt. Taste of Carmel and roasted malts, not bitter but not too sweet. Kind of boring.

Nose of spicy rye grass. Traces of maple sugar. Resin nose. Pours Deep orange/amber with a good size lasting off white lacing head. Lots of carbonation, mouthfeel is a tad thin. Solid bitters sitting on top of spice and bready malts. Very long and deep bitter finish, with earth, wood, and some old grape like tannins. Much better than I thought it would be. .

Reddish-brown, thin frothy beige head and intricate lacing patterns. Hops to the nose with rich, sweet malty quality. Flavor is blissfully full of malt sweetness offset by poignant hoppy presence. Reminiscent of bakery fresh sour dough bread. Superb.

(Rating #6520)

Can, from LCBO Kenora. Cloudy, dark reddish pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is caramel, a little roasty, with a slightly metallic note and a touch of dank hops. Taste is quite smooth and creamy, malty caramel. Not overly sweet but not a lot of hops to balance out - mostly tastes like a rich amber ale. Not bad, but not as advertised either.
