Reduced from 5.4% in 2014. Beer Archa was first launched in July 2004 to expand the market share, particularly in the standard and premium product groups, and to respond to increasing demands from a new generation of beer drinkers who prefer smooth beer with lower alcohol content. Beer Archa thus serves as another alternative for beer drinkers.
Production stopped in 2015
ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, Chang Light, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBev’s three breweries. The recipe of Chang Classic includes rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version of Chang Beer.

320ml from can bought at 7/11 in Ao Nang. Thai lager, almost transparent golden beer, not very good, but probably better than other lager round here

Clear yellow with white head. Weak aroma and taste of hay, bread, malt. A bit cardboardy. No finesse, taste or point whatsoever.

Can. Clear yellow, small white head. Sweet malt and cornflake aroma. Similar flavour, no real bitterness. Quite sweet and slightly watery in the finish.

Can in Seattle. Rainy night tasting. Thanks to my brother for hauling this back from Thailand. Super soft white foam, very light yellow body. Juicy wet cardboard aroma, lemongrass perhaps. Pale, cool, clean. Sweet-edged throughout. Fairly fresh tasting, I suppose. Juicy pale lager, pretty simple. Nothing offensive really.

12 oz can poured at Matt’s. Much thanks for these odd ticks! Pours a pale, clean, closer to water color, than it is anything else. No head. Huge corn and soft skunk aroma. From a distance. Not surprised. Flavor is a wax like straw, but clean, and not quite offensive. The kind of beer that you drink when it’s your only option, and you start to like it after 9 days of vacation, then get home and try a solid brew, and give it the most unfair 4.5 rating of all time.

Bottle, thanks luttonm. Pale yellow color with no head. Aroma is citrus leafs, wet cardboard. Taste is skunked cardboard. Low carbonation. Actually more drinkable than expected.

Blik 0.32 uit lokale supermarkt Khao Lak, Thailand. Nog ruim verkrijgbaar. Smaak is licht en vlak zoals vaak in deze regio. Koud echter best te drinken.

Well, still in production it seems. Can, 5% from a Bangkok 7-11. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white had and lots of bubbles. The aroma is grainy malt, some light hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a dry, cardboard, rice-lice, light floral hop bitter palate. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation,

Large bottle in Mae Kasa, Thailand. White, two finger head. Pale golden. Very little aroma. Little carbonation. Slight hop taste but not much else. Watery mouthfeel. Bland but refreshing.
