Reduced from 5.4% in 2014. Beer Archa was first launched in July 2004 to expand the market share, particularly in the standard and premium product groups, and to respond to increasing demands from a new generation of beer drinkers who prefer smooth beer with lower alcohol content. Beer Archa thus serves as another alternative for beer drinkers.
Production stopped in 2015
ThaiBev stopped production of Archa, Chang Beer, Chang Draught, Chang Light, and Chang Export in 2015. A new product, Chang Classic, was launched, with production shared between ThaiBevs three breweries. The recipe of Chang Classic includes rice, previously only used in the domestic 6.4% version of Chang Beer.

This pale lager whale was found in a 7/11 near the Khaosan Road, Bangkok. The pours pissy light gold with a tiny head. The nose is cardboard, vomit, some ribbon candy. The taste is cruddy cardboard, some sweet syrup and general nastiness. Light body, loads of carbonation. Overall, this is cheap artificial swill, even by dodgy pale lager standards. At least the price was right...

ALLOVATE (2992) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 25, 2012
With the obscure yo-yo alcohol content of Thai beers I find this strange as a lighter choice at a still staggering 5.4% ABV. From the now blue labelled king brown not quite chilled as the heat of the afternoon was hard to avoid. It pours a medium gold and sparkling with a loose and desperate head of white that eventually fades. Lemon zest and honey drenched corn flakes on the nose with a light grassy hop and toasted malt note. With a clean nose it was oddly vegetal on the palate. Cereal-like grainy mid-palate and into the sweet, malt-driven swallow. Low hop; slightly spiced. Relatively light bodied but a residual sugary note makes it a little too cloying once it warms. An OK Thai lager, just OK! (64cL, Best after 02/06/12, Big 1 Super Market, Bangla Road, Phuket, Thailand)
