Melyssa was in mythology a mountain-nymph transformed by Zeus in a beautiful bee. This robust Golden Ale is brewed with italian orange tree honey. The smell is citrus-like cause of the honey enhanced by the generous but balanced using of american hops. Unpasteurized , unfiltered. Hop: Simcoe, Amarillo

An experimental golden ale with honey and a lot of American hops; the recipe would probably benefit labor limae, but even this first version is promising.

Tap at Archea. Hazy golden orange. Nose of honey, oranges, biscuits. Sweet and full, then dry and minerally. A bit of suphur. honey all the way. Dry, crisp finish.

Keg at the brewpub in Florence in Florence. A hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is sour tangy, malts, wheat, apple, lemon rind and dung. Flavour is composed tar, bitter dirty hop, German hefe yeast I guess? This beer is a complete mess of flavours. Palate is medium sweet, grainy, flabby, moderate carbonation. Lingering dirty grains and grassy hop. Bad beer.

On tap @ Archea Brewing / Fierenze --- Lemony light malt color, white head that drops to a heavy rim, sheets of lace. Taste is malt with light fruity citrus, medium fizz, thin hops that persist in a long finish. A decent light brew, but probably wouldn’t drink again.

On tap at the brewery. Light golden, thin head. Sweet fruit and some malts in the aroma. A bit of bready notes and sweetness in the fairly rich taste.

Keg at the brewery bar. Pours clearish gold with a frothy white head. Doughy pale bread in he nose, some vague citrus, straw. Medium to heavy sweet flavor, lots of doughy sugar, mellow honey, minimal bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly syrupy, more simple bread. Not bad. Pretty drinkable for the ABV.

Birra interessante, ben bilanciata tra dolce e amaro. Beverina e piacevole. Bravi!
