Tasted while on vacation in Montreal. On tap, pours hazy yellow with white head and a spritz of light tan lacing. Aroma: citrus, pine. Flavor: grapefruit, pineapple, mango, pine. Mouthfeel: light- to medium-bodied with a dry, mineral finish.

UXO (1922) - CANADA - AUG 26, 2016
Appearance: hazy pale gold with a short white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: grapefruit, grassy, caramel, hint of Belgian yeast. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry bitter finish. (4/5)

Not bad at all. The bitterness builds as the pint progresses, making it a decently respectable IPA. Not sure I’m getting a whole lot of Belgian floral or fruit character here, but to be fair, they’re not claiming it’s "Belgian", just "white". And it’s definitely that, so... pretty good... I guess? (14/20)

Note: 6+/10

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2016 As Nuit Blanche. golden ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light butterscotch, light grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light cloves, banana, interesting. On tap at Festibière de Gatineau 2016.

Pours a hazed light-golden colour with loads of unfiltered particles. Big white head, great retention and thick foamy lacing. Fresh hop aromas with grass notes and grapefruit zest. Citrus peel again in the taste. Good bitterness getting stronger as it lingers. Not much of the witbier character. Maybe a little Belgian yeast. Wish there was more of this style blended in this one. Still, a nice unfiltered IPA.

473ml can, gift from Jo. Thanks Jo for this free rating ;) Aroma: tropical fruits quite well hidden behind a malted caramel profile, some vegetables and coriander too. Not much wheat. App: clear pale huge white head, good retention, good lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, medium lingering bitter finish. Overall: unfortunately this is way too much malted, not fruity enough, not much from a white ipa in there. Probably quite old.

473 ml can. Pours a veiled orangeish yellow with a thick, creamy, resilient white head. Aroma is grapefruit, lime, lemon, tropical fruit. Flavor is grapefruit, pineapple, orange. Lingering bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation.

Beaucoup d’orange amère et de pamplemousse blanc (pulpe) nous envahissent... Elle est légèrement astringente en finale mais plus tempérée, elle est bien mise en valeur, notamment par les fruits et le caramel. Bonne bière!
