Forget the Winter snow scene, and just concentrate on beer. Beer purchased from Aldi 50cl of top value beer. This is the taste and mouth feel that makes Bavarian Helles the joy that it is.

500 ml bottle £1.59 from ALDI. Poured into a large tulip. Bright golden body with a dense white head. A little hop aroma detectable, and a gentle nicely rounded fruitbread flavour. Full bodied for a lager, soft carbonation, clean palate. I could drink a few of these and watch the world go by.

Bottle.Bought from Aldi at Cannock. Golden with a small head. Medium body with a small head and quite sweet. For some reason I think of as Winter beer as being dark, which this isn’t. Still quite a pleasant beer.

Bottle from Aldi. Clean gold, smidge of lacing. Slightly carrotty taste, avec gentle corn. Also has thickness from dried corny bread. Couldn’t quite place the style - not sweet enough to be an Oktoberfest, but too sweet to be a Helles. All that is completely irrelevant nonsense of course. Principally it’s an engaging and very wholesome lager. Great value too.

Bottle from Aldi. Spiralled into steady-fizzing, white-bloomed golden trumpet. Shrub, sweetcorn, honeycomb aroma. Good grassy lager underscored with honeyed toast and almond; some Danish pastry tones. Clean cashew and breadstick linger. Had some well dodgy German lagers of late but this is more like it; f**k all to do with winter but what and when is that??

Bottle looks really good, nice label. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine malty-spicy, strong, but not too intense. Some wheaty notes. Modest sourish. Finish still intense malty, spicy, but well balanced. Quite drinkable. Good!

Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet sugary malt, sweet malt, hay, fruity malt. 500 ml bottle. Thanks Timo A. Pours a golden colour with a small head. Aroma of grains, sweetness and quite strong hay notes. Flavour of grainy malts, herbs, fresh grassy hops and bread. A bit harsh carbonation. Good.

A clear golden colour with a white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of hops and a flavour of hops with a nice light clean finish. --- BeerItsNice
