UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 Man, if thats what one week in San Diego does to you i,m all for it!! Nice spicey litle black IPA, no matter what Gabe says. Nice off white head thats fairly lasting. Almost black in appearence. Spicy hop nose, lil floral, citrusy with some roasty notes. Medium bodied, lil oily, grainy. Fairly well balanced hops to roasty malts. Some pine and citrus along with notes of chocolate and roast, lil hint of smoke too. Lightly bitter finish though. Nice brew for Black IPA. Soor Gabe, just not the hop monster yer used too. Tap. Pours clear black with a small, fizzy light tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is roast and chocolate malt, earthy and pine hops, dates and prunes. Flavor is malt forward with medium hops and bitterness, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
