I think this came from a Beer of the Month Club and given to me by a friend. The 12 oz bottle pours a clear copper with a small off-white head and adequate lacing. Nose is floral and citrus hops. Medium in body. The flavor is a bit harsh and the bitterness is not a really nice one. I see the use "special hops". Maybe that is the problem because it was hard to like this very much . edwardbass (833) - Illinois, USA - OCT 21, 2014
I guess you can’t call this bad per se, but it’s not "good." Astringent aroma. Super-carbonated with a monster, out of control head. Taste is citrus rind and pine hops with an astringency that gets close to unpleasant. The extreme carbonation seems to interfere with the malt balance and there’s very little malt - not balanced at all. I’ve had worse IPAs, but this one is just barely mediocre. Some sediment on the bottom of this hazy, rust brown brew.
Aroma is highly pleasing and unsurprisingly hop foward.
Taste is excessively bitter with a drop off where malts should be present to help serve up the hop hit in a pleasant way.

Stale cereal malts. Musty with strange earthy characteristics. Some very dull caramel notes. Acerbic without notable hop qualities. Light lemon and grass. jsmerig (1578) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 8, 2014
Pours a golden hazy Browne with. Light tan head. Aroma is citrus with a light bread note. Taste is sharp citrus blended with more mellow orange grain notes. Finishes dry and crisp.

Copper/red color with a foamy white head that dissipated quickly and left nice lace. Fairly complex hoppy aromas of pine, citrus, and earthiness with caramel coming thorugh more as the beer warmed. Similarly, the hop bitterness up front in the flavor profile was encroached upon by a rich maltiness that became stronger with time. Medium body, minimal carbonation, sticky mouthfeel and a heavy malt sweetness in the finish. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - JUN 26, 2014
A nice a deep dark amber body which was almost opaque that had a nice off white head that had good retention and great lacing. Aroma had a good malt presence which was heavy on the caramel malts and had some almost nutty qualities. Hops were well balanced. Mild pine notes and a hint of citrus some almost spicy hop notes. Flavor was mostly sweet, there was a nice bitterness to it that crept up in the background. Finish was dry and nice mouth feel. chicagobears (469) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - JUN 21, 2014
Unique looking unfiltered ruby IPA. The nose has a hint of smoke and a floral presence. Flavor is sweet caramel with the bitterness trailing behind. A nice flavor but much different from what I expect from a American IPA. The bitterness creeps in more as I drink it. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JUN 18, 2014
Sahweet, I just found the notes on this. Haha, here goes.
I had three of these beers acquired from my brother in law who lives in IL.
All three were poured into pint glasses.
The appearance was a nice looking red/copper color with a fairly decent half fingered white foamy head that ends up dieing within less than a minute. The lacing actually left a little bit to be desired.
The smell made up for the lack of lacing as there was a super nice involvement of pine to citrus to earthy bittered hops. Whoah, damn, boy did this smell nice, holy moley. The sweet malts do end up coming in just a tad as it warms.
The taste was fairly sweet through a combination of the malts and hops.
On the palate, this one sat at/about a light to medium with a fairly decent sessionable aspect to it. The carbonation tried to portray a certain harshness, but seemed actually sitting right on queue.
Overall, worthy AIPA of having again with its respected food. Though, it almost seems the palate aspect of it probably could’ve showed a tad more harshness to me.
