COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on a classic Belgian pale ale. It was produced by breweries with roots as far back as the mid 1700’s. The most well known examples were perfected after the Second World War with some influence from Britain including hops and yeast strains. Subtleties and balance are key in this beer, leaving no characteristic too pronounced while none of the flavors are forgotten.

Golden yellow pour with small white head. Aroma of malts, yeast, honey and hops. Taste of malts, yeast, hops, honey, faint pepper and grains. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, nicely balanced. Solid but not remarkable.

Draught at the brewery, 12/30/15.
Light amber-golden beer with a small white head showing moderate retention. Little bit of a chill-haze to it.
Tons of spicy yeast phenolics in the nose with a good deal of light raisin and biscuit character from the malts. Pear, apple, light clove and tons of black pepper with no alcohol or flaws.
Lightly sweet up front, with cookies, sweet bread and applesauce-like sweetness being quickly dried out by the strong yeast phenols. Clove, varied pepper notes and a strong dose of dry vanilla-like character through the middle, ending with pear, apple and even a mild touch of citrus and grass. Texture is fairly malty, though there is some "hardness" from the specialty malts and the carbonation is quite high. Nonetheless, this is very clean, with no alcohol and no banana or heavy clove (though maybe a bit too heavy on the anise-character).

Taster pour at the brewpub. Light golden yellow pour with a white head and lacing. Nice Belgian spiced nose. Malt sweetness fades into traditional Belgian spices in the taste. Finishes malty with slight bitterness.

Smells like a malty belgian ale. Taste is the same with a nice malt and bread taste. Aftertaste is bread, biscuit, and very mild hops. Medium body, medium carbonation, and some foam.

Tap. Pours hazy orange Amber, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is light, some pepper and honey. Flavor is light sweet, very light bitter, hint of bubblegum, anise. Medium body. Fine for what it is, but nothing exciting

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a slightly hazy deep copper body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up sweet Belgian yeasty spices, a sliver of cane sugar and then pineapple and pear fruitiness. The taste is smooth and supple with a sweet rush of soft pineapple and pear fruitiness blended with yeasty spices. It gets a little cracker like to midway. Nice.

Orange tinted dark copper color, minor head. Mild malt aroma, a hint of spiciness. The body is somewhat pleasantly on lighter side than what I expected. The flavor was also more reserved than expected, providing a refreshing version of the style. Some malt/graininess, subdued sweetness, and a touch of bitterness. Really nice on a hot afternoon on the patio.

Draft. Deep orange hue with a fair amount of haze. Beautiful phenols in the aroma, which is a sharp and complex blend of peppercorns, cinnamon, apple, cardamom, pear and sourdough bread crust. The dry, toasted bread character is reflected in the flavor, providing balance to a subtle blend of pear, green apple and dried flowers petals. Finishes quite dry, with just a hint of the not-insubstantial alcohol content. A subtle, balanced Belgian ale.

On draft. Hazy amber with one finger head. Peppery, clove aroma. Taste is similar with a dry finish. Good balance.

draft, a very standard pale ale. Some fruit belgian yeast notes, a little over hopped for the type of beer and the malts arent as complex. Nice till belgian though.
