COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Red Ale brewed with Ahtanum, Nugget and Cascade hops. There was a serendipitous, albeit simple, moment where Jonathan’s neighbor, Bob, has an epiphany. He said, “Ever thought maybe you’re just meant to start a brewery?” This was after months of Jonathan complaining about not knowing what to do with his life. That was that, and the rest is history. This American Red Ale is an ode to Bob the neighbor, who loves this style. Hoppiness isn’t Bob’s thing as much as balance, so we constructed a beer that we knew guys like Bob would love! Here is to messing up all our lives, Bob!

Pour on tap at the brewpub, slightly hazy yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of nice orange, bread, grass into some pine, touch of biscuit with a hint of floral hops. Taste was a mix of grass, pine, slight orange into a bit of floral notes, touch of biscuit, bready notes, finishing bitter.

draft, damn i really liked it this one. It was caramelly, hoppy, and smokey all at once. Evenly balanced. Very tasty, extremely high drinkability. Great execution.

Smell is mild hops. Taste is malt, hops, a bit of chocolate in the aftertaste, and maybe some faint toffee. Medium sharp carbonation with very mild foam. This one has more hop character than I care for in a red.

On tap at the brewpub where the beer pours with a clear amber body that has golden hues and supports an off white head. The aroma offers up roasted malts mixed with a mild degree of Noble to slightly lemon like citrus hops. The taste delivers roasty notes with roasted malts, lightly roasted coffee and then a sliver of burnt malts. It has a nice edge of citrus to tropical fruit to lemon grass like hoppy bitterness that works pretty good with the malt bill. In between these notes I get mild sweet fruity esters that help create more balance to the roastiness and hops.

Pours a nice amber color with off white head. Aromas of roasted malt, caramel, and some sweet molasses. Flavors very much of the same with a toasted grain finish.

Deep red pour, creamy off white head. Nose of caramel, toasted malt, earthy hops, and a light bready note. The flavor is quite rich, full toasted grains, toffee, wheat bread, mild hops. Smooth and really nice.

On draft at the brewpub. Typical nose for a red with sweet medium-roasted malt, mild toffee and caramel, a semi-surprising subtle molasses note, roasted nuts, and slight earthy hops. Pours an occluded copper red with a lasting parchment-colored head. As expected, the taste is malt-forward with a strong and rich woody characteristic, a light astringency, and a faint dirty hop bitterness that fits the brew well. Medium body with a somewhat gritty texture. A well-balanced red.
