COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Santa Teresa Belgian Enkel is on tap now. The monks too enjoy a fine ale with a meal. This 5.2% abv ale uses noble hops and a yeast strain from the Trappist monestary, Westmalle.

At 4 am each morning steam billows from the Brouwerij der Trappisten van Westmalle, the trappist monastery in Westamlle Belgium. The brewery helps fund the abbey and other charitable causes. Monks have been brewing for centuries, and believe a fulfilled life requires your hands never be idles and always be providing. The monks enjoy enkels, or singles, with their dinner. A much lower ABV helps cognitive thoughts. These beers are extremely rare to find, even in Belgium, and we are very proud to represent this fine style.

Based on previous notes, on tap at the Brewpub. This is a starkly yellow-orange brew, wild in nature, but overly tart and snappy IMHO. Not as well balanced as the best examples of style. (#6171)

Draft at the source. Cloudy golden orange color. Aroma of mixed tropical fruit. Taste has orange peel, lemon, pineapple, light funk. Decent.

Golden amber pour with a slight white head at the brewpub. Slight Belgian nose and again in the taste. Nicely done but not a style Im crazy about.

Nocturne (1898) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2015
Tap at Magic Rocks Rainbow Project launch. Hazy orange shade. Small white head. Notes of green apple, oranges, banana. Grassy and herbal notes always poking through. Creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good. Has a ring of Belgian authenticity but with just about enough of its own character.

Keg at Kings Arms tap takeover, London. It pours a hazy golden color with medium white head. Aroma is estery and lightly yesty, fruity and lightly dry, lightly sweet. taste is light;y sweet fruity estery and lightly dry grassy herbal with notes of apricots, yeast, biscuit, earth. Medium bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, nice simple Belgian ale

On keg at Magic Rock Tap Rainbow Project 2015. Well made, but really just reminds me of a light/dry nondescript Belgian blond - seriously it tastes a lot like Palm. Nice frothy white head. Inviting, but mild. Light, lagery, dry. Hamster cage. Smells like a Belgian blond i.e. Brugge Zot, but flavour is much drier and almost lager-like. Pretty solid, though.

On tap at Beavertown rainbow 2015.belgian yeast esters. Peach apricot. Some biscuit. A little thin in the mouth. Some soap maybe. A little light in the malt but esters are good.
