A blonde stout! We used star anise , the best cacao nibs and an espresso blend from Superstition Coffee to give it all the profiles of a traditional stout. So what’s not ordinary? It’s blonde! The base to this stout is two row malt and a small amount of crystal malt -- not your normal roasted malts.

Crowler from the source. Dark blonde pour. Initial aroma confusing as I was expecting coffee stout and got a big ol heap of licorice (which I had not know was in this). The anise overpowered the coffee to an extent, and other stout qualities more so. Ending up more Belgian adjunct blonde. A little disappointed.

First Arizona rating!! Thanks ck1, and GregMac!! Crowler shared at poker gathering. Interesting nose is soooo thickly coffee that it is peppery. Offputting the very light pour with the strong malty/coffee presence. Big sweet coffee taste. Lactose even. Finishes well blended between bitter and sweet. Quite tasty. 14.8

Nice mildly roasty coffee smell. Taste is some typical roasty stout notes along with some light coffee and an aftertaste that includes some light hazelnut and cocoa. Medium body, low to medium sharp carbonation, and very mild foam.
