Bottle: Clear rich copper color with almost no head. Malts and wet grass in the aroma, medium bodied with dull carbonation, watery finish with a strange woddy aftertaste. Yet another over-priced bottled English beer that I will never buy again Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 6, 2005
Bottle. Amber colour with a big off-white head. Malty, hoppy, barnyard aroma and a light smoked, hoppy, perfumed, wood taste. Medium body with a dry finish. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - DEC 5, 2005
Headless, but with a nice reddish brown color, it’s got a rich toffee aroma with that Scottish peat smokiness and a soft-but-appreciable herbal hopping to it. A bit thin, it’s got a solid, peaty malt flavor with a nice bitter finish. I could see drinking pints of this all night long.RAYBOY01 (2010) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 5, 2005

Distinct smoky aroma. Strong malt profile with toffee and dried fruit notes. Decently hopped-up as well. Smoke and peat flavors as well. A little thin on the palate, but all in all a very good bitter. joergen (28753) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 5, 2005
Clear red coloured with an off white head.
Aroma of malts, pine needles and hops with roasted notes and notes of dish washer.
Roasted flavour with notes of dish washer and pine needles.

Supping on it right now, and it is fantastic! The taste is there but it lacks something, if it was a piece of music it would need more bass, however it is still a fantastic beer. Nekronos (4174) - Xalapa, MEXICO - OCT 29, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2006 Getting better with this beer from the Brewery. Really Dark for being a bttled Ale, I like dark ones, but it was nice to taste, it was more than a strong Ale. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2005
Bottled. A dark brown beer with a dark red hue and no head. The aroma is malty and fairly sweet. Brown berry fruits are present. The taste is also malty and quite Christmassy; more raisins and maybe a little butterscotch/toffee. OK but feels a bit tinny. Bottle (500ml). Poured clear copper with an average lasting foamy light tan head. Aroma of musky hops and sour fruit - plenty of malt in this one, reminded me of burning wet leaves. Taste is very bitter, the hops are quite pungent and almost overwhelm the plentiful but mild malt - very leafy/mossy in the linger. Palate is quite astringent with a longish bitter finish. Couldn’t drink too many of these, but very interesting and heavily hopped Scottish offering. scotty (1218) - SCOTLAND - SEP 25, 2005
Dark copper with an off white head lasts well. Nice malty nose with fruity hops lurking in the background. Sweet malt dominates the palate, but the finish is quite unpleasant...a harsh overly bitter edge appears and lingers. The Blonde is much better than this. Poor quality...poured it away.
