A single 12 oz bottle I picked up on an out of town trip. Arrogant Bastard ale has been high on my favorites list so I’m pleased to try this. Using my ABGB tulip glass I make a pour. It delivers an attractive amber-brown body completed by a quickly departing light brown head. The scent is malt, toffee and an indication of a barrel being used in the process. A drink, oh my, a blend of the expected strong AB ale taste and a shot of bourbon to go with that beer. Powerful bitterness outlasts everything. This is really tasty, rather unique in my scope of things. 8.1% abv shown on the label, just to pass along.

Ciemnej miedzianej barwy. Piana drobna i gęsta, zdobi szkło. Aromat intensywny. Wyraźny bourbon, trochę ciemnych suszonych owoców, aromaty beczki. W smaku słodowe, delikatny bourbon, trochę wanilii. Brakuje ciała, wydaje się wodniste. Goryczka intensywna.

355ml bottle from Craftbeer-Shop.com. Smooth woody nose. The beer starts mild and rich. Very dry, deep fruity with a nice and quite intense bitterness. Round and floral, nice pine and resin over a soft and fruity malty body. Long bitter and floral aftertaste, the wood is low and the bourbon is only there in hints. Deep mild bitter aftertaste, round and sessionable with a long bitter aftertaste.

More of a bourbon than a beer. Fairly intense and acidic. I expected more out of it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Hopyard, november 11th 2016. Dark bronze body with a small creamy head. Aroma is oaky with caramel, bourbon, earth. Toasted malty taste with vanilla, heavy bitterness with grassy notes and pine.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2017 Pours ruby red with small head. Aroma: beautiful aroma of bourbon barrel with a lot of vanilla and tons of dried fruit. Smells like a world-class barleywine. The high expectations are poorly managed afterwards with a very small body tasting still of nice dried fruits, but simply being too far behind the aroma.

Bottle from supermarket. Dark amber color, white head. Nice bourbon aroma and taste, decent bitterness

Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Karamelles, fűszeres, fahordós illat, halovány burbonos lepellel. Édeskés burbonos, fahordós alap, karamelles, fűszeres, déligyümölcsös aromákkal. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, erősen keserű. Finom, jól sikerült sör.
