Pour is dark amber or cola color with a small tan head. Aroma is lite and malty a little like a Belgian double. Hops and bitterness on the front middle and end like I like it but the barrel aging make it a little softer and lends wood and bourbon notes.

Drank 20-09-17 @ Hopaholic while writing. Pretty heavy on the bourbon and the sweetness, which I like. Lot of taste for this ABV, Good!

Tap at Bevog Festival 2017. Dark red with a tan head. Full-on bourbon vanilla, with some fruits and caramel. Medium sweetness, medium bitterness. Warming, bitter bourbon finish. Medium body with lively carbonation. Still not a huge fan of Arrogant Bastard ales...

Bottle. Hazy dark amber pour, small tan head. Nose is quite sweet, taste hoppy with a sweet malty finish. Notes of the barrels. Full body, soft carbonation.

I’m not sure that the arrogant bastard needed a bourbon barrel version, but this is definitely interesting. The aging lends the beer some spicyness and a woody vanilla character that pale in comparison with the sharp bitterness of the base beer. Tried for the first time in 2011.

The famous Arrogant Bastard ale with A LOT of bourbon taste to it. You obviously have to live. Bourbon to love this beer but if you do.... this is excellent. The two tastes complement each other well ---Rated by Belgiandean

Dark with red tint, little head. Complex aroma, cherries oak coffee , bourbon. Flavor is solid with good malts, sweetness and boozy burn of a finish. Good stuff ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2017 Arômes de caramel, bois, bourbon. Robe rougeâtre claire, faible mousse. Alcool, amertume, tourbe.

Thin head fades quick. Barrel aging basically addes a green barrel bitterness on tongue. Nose is very light barrel. Overall it is harsh and barrel unpleasant. Leaves an astringent barrel flavor on the tongue. This isn’t what you want from a barrel aged beer. VERY disappointed.
