Pour is dark amber or cola color with a small tan head. Aroma is lite and malty a little like a Belgian double. Hops and bitterness on the front middle and end like I like it but the barrel aging make it a little softer and lends wood and bourbon notes.

355ml bottle from Craftbeer-Shop.com. Smooth woody nose. The beer starts mild and rich. Very dry, deep fruity with a nice and quite intense bitterness. Round and floral, nice pine and resin over a soft and fruity malty body. Long bitter and floral aftertaste, the wood is low and the bourbon is only there in hints. Deep mild bitter aftertaste, round and sessionable with a long bitter aftertaste.

More of a bourbon than a beer. Fairly intense and acidic. I expected more out of it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Hopyard, november 11th 2016. Dark bronze body with a small creamy head. Aroma is oaky with caramel, bourbon, earth. Toasted malty taste with vanilla, heavy bitterness with grassy notes and pine.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2017 Pours ruby red with small head. Aroma: beautiful aroma of bourbon barrel with a lot of vanilla and tons of dried fruit. Smells like a world-class barleywine. The high expectations are poorly managed afterwards with a very small body tasting still of nice dried fruits, but simply being too far behind the aroma.

Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Karamelles, fűszeres, fahordós illat, halovány burbonos lepellel. Édeskés burbonos, fahordós alap, karamelles, fűszeres, déligyümölcsös aromákkal. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, erősen keserű. Finom, jól sikerült sör.

Love the Arrogant Bastard Ale series and the Bourbon Barrel is no exception. Nice Bourbon flavor that lingers in a wonderful way. Stone makes such a professional beer you can almost never go wrong loved this strong ale which has become a bit of their specialty.

Drank 20-09-17 @ Hopaholic while writing. Pretty heavy on the bourbon and the sweetness, which I like. Lot of taste for this ABV, Good!
