This is an aggressive beer. You probably wont like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Too much hops, way too bitter, my palate was roughed up.

My second sample of Stones work, and my favorite so far. Big flavor, strong hop presence, but solid malt too. Dark flavors, much sweeter than I expected, and no taste of alcohol. I actually anticipated a little more bite. Delicious and complex, absolutely, and I wouldnt hesitate to have another, but judging by the name I expected something meaner.

On tap into a pint, Liars Club (San Diego), summer 2005. Clear deep ruby with a dusting of off-white head. Not much in smell, but what I can pick up is musky hops with a bit of caramel malt. Hops dominated flavor with bitter finish. Notes of light strawberry and buttery malts. Hops get metallic late in the finish. Solid.

Ive had it both bottled and on tap. What a huge beer! Arrogant Bastard is always a treat, and thankfully almost always accessible.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2007 2006 Bottle. First Impression: Hops! Strong smell, but good. Nice dark red alook with thin head that stays until the last drop. Strong taste but goes down smooth. Easily aan ale I can drink again and again. Highly recommended. Cheers!

Time to see what this beer is. I drove 4.5 hours round trip for this (and quite a few others). Pours brown / dark amber with nice sized off white head. Aroma is big - lots of piney hops mixed with dark roasted malts - very thick and rich. Body is medium / heavy and slightly oily with light carbonation. Flavor is heavily roasted / burnt caramel malts with a piney / woody hop finish. Everything about the beer is thick. Very enjoyable. Not much changes throughout the drink. Not quite as complex as expected, but what is there is wonderful. I look forward to trying more from this brewery, it is off to a nice start.
