Bold red color with a head that sticks around. A sweet malty aroma and a taste quite similar. Kind of a sticky body, but in a good way. It’s the flavor that sticks with you. ElBorracho (472) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 14, 2005
Bottle. Poured dark amber with a nice off white head that had some lasting power. Aromas of malts, prunes, and floral notes that carried through to the taste. Caramel and bready yeasts peeked through as well. Finished with a nice and balanced hop bite. Very good indeed. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 14, 2005
Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe coffee. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy as hell. God I love this beer. MrBunn (2841) - The Wet Side of a Dry Town, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2005
Beautiful reddish coloration with a foamy tan head. Aroma subtle but very pleasant--of apple/fruit, maybe a bit of citrus and a little evergreen. Flavor is great... hops are present throughout, but really come into focus at the end. First burst of flavor is bitter hops, which momentarily gives way to a fruity sweetness that then immediately breaks into an piney sharpness of hops that finishes nice and bitter. billism (44) - Missouri City, Texas, USA - DEC 12, 2005
1Pt. 6FlOz. bottle. Small light tan head. Amber-ruby colored body. Fruity aroma. Somewhat creamy palate. I can taste the easy going maltiness just before the hops bites in hard and stays for a bitter finish. I am not a big hop head, but I did enjoy this beer. I may not be "worthy", but this beer is.

22 oz. bottle - This beer is aggressive alright. While appaerntly not as hoppy as Stone’s Ruination IPA, this is still more of a hophead’s beer due to the strong hops finish. Initially you’ll be hit with malty sweetness though. The flavor is strong like one might expect on reading the bottle, and very good. Highly recommended. georgekillian (344) - Alabama, USA - DEC 11, 2005
very rough flavor going down, not my type of beer, but it has a very high alcohol content. Great beer bottle and name that is the only reason that i bought this beer. Not that bad for the price. Zeswaft (1775) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 10, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 4, 2006 Rerate, Syrupy and sugary, more so than I remember. Still quite tastey strong ale, well balanced but too full in body. Good, not too great.
Another really good strong brew from Stone. Very hoppy and full bodied. Hops are very piney. Though this beer is really good, I can’t really tell the difference between this, double bastard, ruinition, and old guardian. Perhaps the alcohol isn’t as noticable. hippie4beer (162) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - DEC 9, 2005
Bottle. Long time drinker, first time rater. Pours a deep red-brown color with a thick lasting head that produces great lacing. Aroma is strong of hops with hints of nuts and coffee. Flavor is hugely hoppy with a smooth yet bitter alcohol finish. Bubbly on the palate. I don’t see how anyone could think this brew is bad. Bad ass if you ask me. Always a favorite. This is probably one of the worst beers i have ever had. It was very harsh, with a medicine and some other bullshit taste. Completely unbearable, i would rather sip on some COLT45.
