The best beer ever, period. The perfect blend between overaly bitter and overly malty, best of both worlds. The label stands true, beware all you yellow fizzy beer drinkers!! webbcreative (111) - , Oklahoma, USA - FEB 28, 2009
Dark brown amber reddish beautiful pour. With 2 finger head, that sticks to the glass tighter than spandex to Kirsti Alley. Smells wonderfully of hops and maybe some carmel and malt. Taste is a little sweetnes up front then maybe some carmel and rosted malt, then in the end getting a bit of that hop bitterness, pretty well balanced actually for such an amped up brew, and the alcohol is pretty well hiddden in this one for me also.
Overall I went into this beer hoping to love it, but truthfully expecting to hate it. I was very plesantly surprised with this one, I really liked it alot! and will have to get more whenever im done in TX. [or wherever stone might be sold] MRodgers1982 (111) - USA - SEP 24, 2014

Bottle. Beautiful appearance of dark amber colour with white foam. Aromas of caramel, malts, hops, hint of wood. Taste: rich and complex, caramel, vanilla, lots of hops, citrus fruits. Great balance. Medium carbonation. A beast of a beer! LeftCoastRider (110) - , Washington, USA - JUN 29, 2012
UPDATED: APR 11, 2013 Pours a dark amber with a dirty head. Looks like it will tast like an amber, but instead a wonderful and powerful hoppiness attacks the palate. Not as much aroma as I would have thought, but nice caramel notes without the attendant burnt malt flavor that usually accompanies caramel malts. Hints of pine and citrus. Full bodied. A great beer.
Update, 4/11/13: Just bought another 22oz. bottle, and this is a VERY different beer - not dark amber, but almost as dark as a porter. And strong notes of a toasty malt. Although the bitterness is still there, this bottle of AB is MUCH darker than any other I have had. Must have been a bad batch. I would rate this as a 3.0 overall,

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2006 bottle.Second time rating this one. Wow what a mistake I made the first time. Aggressive, but not overbearing. Full of hops, but wouldn’t expect anything less from Stone. Thick bodied with smokey flavor. Great ale with those awesome hops. mbrandon2w (109) - Worcester, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 8, 2007
Sampled at Mondial de la Biere. Great hoppy, bready aroma. Nice malt flavor followed by a great hop finish. Definitely want to sit down again with this one. BabyJoe692 (109) - Pickerington, Ohio, USA - NOV 15, 2007
Bottle. Dark almost ruby in color. Good hop aroma and a strong Hop flavor. Flavor sits on the tounge for a time after swallowing WinoInTraining (109) - Longmont, Colorado, USA - AUG 16, 2008
Killer standard. Deep mahogany color, clear. Rich malty, deep, nutty, hoppy, a bit of everything in there. always a favorite

22oz bomber. I am not worthy!! Have been wanting to try this for awhile now and I am not disappointed! I love the aroma, pine, citrus, and wonderful hoppy goodness. The flavor is huge, with the hops taking a back seat to the great malt. The hoppyness was less than anticipating.
