UPDATED: SEP 25, 2007 Excellent brew. Very hoppy with good bitter finish. Amber color and long lasting amber head. I could drink this again and again. andrewboss (137) - New York, USA - AUG 8, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2007 Bottle... I’ve tried many beers so far - many of which I had a good time drinking. However, when it comes to what I want in my beer, this is PERFECT. My favorite beer. alandudeman (25) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 15, 2007
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2008 The bottle’s right, you probably won’t like it...at first. But trust me, it grows on you. The more you drink AB, the better you get to know it and the more you notice different flavours. Stone’s over-hype aside, this is undoubtedly a top beer. Just don’t drink it so fast to truly enjoy the flavours. jeremyd365 (124) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 7, 2008
Poured dark amber. The menu called it an "amber ale" but I would call it something heavier myself.
You can smell the delicious hops from some distance away, luring you in.
The taste is strong, but not overwhelming. It feels great in your mouth and goes down smooth.
On tap and from the bottle, the Arrogant Bastard is always great.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 This is the perfect beer... from the name to the logo to the way the taste punches you in the face, arrogant bastard does a lot of things right. Some beers with this much flavor can be overpowering and are only good for one or two pints, but this has a nice balance that allows for more enjoyment...I guess you can say it has endurance

Don’t let the name fool you. Nothing is arrogant or by-blow with this choice nectar.
This deep auburn colored ale lures you in much like that athletic tomboy girl next door clad in her hoodie. And the stripped down head reminds you of how you’d like to get her.
Once you raise the glass close to your face, your nose grabs onto her malty bread dough sweetness.
She baits you with her sweet-as-breath flavor and then hooks you with a light bitterness, like a good wry Scottish wit leaves you slaked.
As she enters your mouth, her creamy thick
full body brings you to seventh heaven, wanting her kiss to last and last. And she delivers with her long finish.
This is one authentic Strong American Ale who you can fall in love with each time you date her.

Why a score of 5?
Because, when i find a beer, that in my opinion, defines a style i give it a perfect score.Aroma is a mix of piney hops and roasted malts. In good light it is a dark ruby red with a nice tan head.
Flavor wise it is a solid mix of bitter hops and varying degrees maltiness as it warms up.Very tasty! Medium palate which makes it very drinkable.(maybe my taste buds are dead because of too much IIPA)As far as i am concerned this is one of the best beers in the world which fits the strong ale description perfectly. If i was stuck in an elevator and had a dozen of these i could stay in there for quite a long time before i would start to panic. Arrogant Bastard was my introduction to craft beers, and it remains among my very favorites. This is a truly great beer. Merin (18) - Arizona, USA - FEB 11, 2010
This might look like too high of a score. But Arrogant Bastard is perfect. Its the beer that plunged me into the craft beer world. The first great beer I tried, and my introduction to Stones beer. Neck and neck with my favorite beer, Ruination IPA. They switch off depending my mood. I love this beer, thank you Greg Koch. Anyways...
Pt. Bottle, pours a dark, ruby red, crystal clear. Has a 2 finger frothy, tan head with nice, lazy lacing. Aroma has strong floral and citrus hop notes, resin, caramel malts, and delicious perfection. Taste starts smooth and sweet with slight fruit, biscuit undertones, pine, which spikes an instant eagerness for the deliciously bitter hop finish. Palate is medium/oily/sticky. Good carbonation. Overall a perfect beer. Taste, drinkability, EVERYTHING. A staple in my diet. Go Stone!!!!!! Crocket47 (4) - New York, USA - MAR 5, 2010 does not count
