This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

First sip is strong, but it helps you forget this as you go along. Great party beer if you like drunken wrestling matches with buddies. = )

Probably the most unpleasant beer I've ever tried. And you lose points for being cocks. Perhaps there's a good beer in there somewhere, but then they added drain cleaner. There is no need for this level of astringency. If Trump made beer, it would have this level of self confidence and total lack of taste and drinkability.

Arogancko puszczone w żywioł słodu i chmielu, w tonacji gorzkiego karmelu, mogłoby być zdyskwalifikowane za niezrównoważenie gdyby nie piarowy elaborat na etykiecie i legenda awangardy craftowej. Do przyjęcia, pozycja obowiązkowa z powodów historycznych.

0,5l can from Pivný raj bottleshop, Bratislava, Pours deep murky red to brown liquid, big frothy tan head, Aroma: bittersweet, full and complexe, citrus, grapefruit, pine, malty, caramel, red fruits, candied, fruits, zesty, Taste: medium to heavy sweet, heavy bitter, light to medium sour, grapefruit, citrus, zesty, malty, very hopy, caramel, red candied fruits, slightly warming alcohol, Palate: medium heavy to heavy body, soft carbonation, creamy to thick mouthfeel, long almost harsh, bitter finish, Overall: very good, enjoyed, thought would not be able to drink a second one, too much bitter. Domininant is the overwhelming citrus bitterness complimented with rich malty, caramel and candied notes.

Vom Fass (Brewed at Berlin/D) Stone Brewing Berlin 2016-06 getrunken. Stone riet mir also, in gewohnten Gefilden zu bleiben... - Gute Idee der Werbabteilung von Stone also lasse ich diese dunkle Hopfen-Bitterbombe hinter mir und freue mich über ein schönes anderes Bier...

24-09-17 // 500ml can at Stone Brewing Tap-Takeover at Naiv in Frankfurt. Shared with Greg Koch himself!! Hazy Brown beer, solid head. Sweetisch nose. Taste of roasted malts, heavy sweetness, with an aggressive bitterness with Grapefruit touches.

Bottle at home. Pours red brown amber with a frothy beige head. Aroma is heavy roasted malt, sweet malts, caramel, grapefruit, moderately hoppy. Taste is heavy sweet malts, then big bitterness, juicy hops, light grapefruit. Medium to full body, soft carbpnation. Long dry, bitter finish. It's a beer that's big on flavour, but it's not for me.

Pours a reddish brown color. One finger beige head. Okay retention, great lacing.

Aroma is malty, very malty. Caramel. Very hoppy.

Taste is quite strong. Quite bitter. It's also sweet.

Mouthfeel is full bodied. It's heavy, thick. It's a sipper, no chugging this one. Smooth.

Overall, this is very good. I would buy it again, and I would recommend it.

Bill Becker (1770) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 20, 2017
From Mar 2007 Pours from 22oz bottle(room temp) a clear deep amber with a huge head of foam that just won't quit. Solid layer with lots of lacing. The smell is very hoppy. I note grapefruit in big abundance. The taste on first sip is hugely hoppy. Lots of citrus that makes your mouth want to pucker but just before it does, the malt moves in and somewhat tames the hops. No, more than that. The malt actually takes over the flavour and I'm not talking really sweet caramel malt...wait...yes I am. Wow. You fooled me. ;^) Boy, is this a treat. Further sips in and I'm getting more of the balanced flavours but mind you, while the hops and malt seem to be working in unison, I cannot deny that the said flavours are as big and bold as the great outdoors. Like the label says, this is an aggressive beer and it refuses to let you just sit there and reach a comfort zone; when you're sipping on it, it takes center stage and all others things going on around you become mere side shows. What an egotistical brew and...I'm loving it! Bottom line: A fantastic brew that will earn your attention whether you wish to or not. Highly recommended!
