COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2013 Pours a dark amber with a dirty head. Looks like it will tast like an amber, but instead a wonderful and powerful hoppiness attacks the palate. Not as much aroma as I would have thought, but nice caramel notes without the attendant burnt malt flavor that usually accompanies caramel malts. Hints of pine and citrus. Full bodied. A great beer. Update, 4/11/13: Just bought another 22oz. bottle, and this is a VERY different beer - not dark amber, but almost as dark as a porter. And strong notes of a toasty malt. Although the bitterness is still there, this bottle of AB is MUCH darker than any other I have had. Must have been a bad batch. I would rate this as a 3.0 overall,

(Keg) This is another classic from the Stone Brewing enterprise. Pours a clear dark amber beer, with ultra-fine carbonation, and a creamy beige head. Rich aroma of rum and raisins, fig and plum pudding, vanilla, smooth bourbon whisky, warm winter spices, and vanilla. A subtle pine and mineral finish. Smooth, light, delicious. Though the taste is slightly underwhelming, the aroma is simply mind-blowing.

50cl can brewed in Berlin. Smooth malty and moderate sweetish beginning. Fruity bitterness with herbal hints. Intense bittered, but round and refreshing in total. Long fruity malty bitter aftertaste, caramel, toffee, intense bittered. Great!

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2017 500ml can from Beer Hawk. Pours dense, ruby with a ark, ample head. It’s thick and syrupy with a mild aroma of figs. The taste is fierce and malty, dry and bitter with pine and plum. Reminded me of Old Peculiar. The more you drink, the better it tastes.

Barwa miedziana, piwo klarowne, piana beżowa, uboga. Aromat średnio-intensywny, karmel, niuanse suszonych owoców i tytoniowo -ziemisty chmiel. W smaku pełne, karmel, melasa, cukier trzcinowy i średniej wysokości tytoniowa lekko cierpka goryczka.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2017 Tap @ Beertemple, Amsterdam.

I have to give this one an overall best for their presentation, I was laughing throughout drinking this beer. "It's funny, because it's true."

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2017 Started to read the description and had to try after the first sentence. The worst part of this beer is.... finding others like it! I cannot wait for them to expand their line of beers.

Barwa miedziana, przejrzysta, piana średniopęcherzykowa, bardzo trwała. W aromacie słodowo, karmelowo, trochę wiśni a w tle amerykański chmiel. W smaku mocno goryczkowe, zalegające, ale w przyjemny sposób. Wyczuwalny karmel, wiśnia, amerykański chmiel, toffi oraz nuty chlebowe. Pełnia średnia, alkohol niewyczuwalny. Wysycenie na średnim poziomie.

0.5L can. Dark amber color, fluffy fat beige foam on top, stays. Moldy, raisin, stale wood aroma. Mmm. Rye, bread, caramel taste. Nice bitter finish. Lovely bitter mouthfeel. Good beer.
