COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout
Ekstrakt: 27%
Alkohol: 11%

Black color with a tan head. Flavor is licorice, molasses, coffee, chocolate, cocos, oak, alcohol. Full body. Very nice beer.

Ritzn (1709) - GERMANY - AUG 31, 2017
2015: Black with red touch. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate, dark chocolate, soothing cocoa. Taste is bitter chocolate, lots of spices, some tanines later, quite balanced. A bit pudding type aroma as well. 2016: Less of the same aroma with some more wood and amarena. Metallic on the tongue. Even more balanced and smooth. 8-4-7-5-13=3.7

FinnIckler (791) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle. Nose is basement, bourbon, toffee, nuts, chocolate. Palate is chocolate, bourbon, toffee, coffee, caramel. Sweet and bitter finish. Pretty good. 2015 version. 2016: Version: the same, but worse, because everything is less intense.

jonas (7993) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - AUG 31, 2017
Old version: 7 3 9 3 16 Darkest brown, lowest head. Farty licorice, chocolate, overwrought wood notes. Somewhat oxidized entry, wood, dark chocolate, coconut, best bounty chocolate bar I ever had. Medium full body, mellow dry. Chocolate liquor finish. 2016 version: 6 3 6 2 13 Boozier, iodine nose. Thicker, chewier, stickier icecream like, iodine and chocolate, not as elegant as the old one.

(bottle) deepest oily black-brown colour with a quickly-diminishing beige head. aroma of soy sauce, cherry juice and roasted malts, with lots of vanilla icing, some yeast slurry, hazelnut schnaps, earth and toasted rye. flavour is mostly brown sugar, bran flakes and ash, very intense, with more vanilla icing, pears, some black olives and lots of earth in the medium roasted-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

SinH4 (6124) - Garching b. M?nchen, GERMANY - AUG 31, 2017
Bottles, 2015 (many thanks GallAno!) vs 2016. Pitch black color with tan head. Aroma is super intense bourbon, black chocolate, caramel, coconut, molasses. Taste is bourbon, liquorice, roasted malts. Oily mouthfeel. Excellent, but not the best BA Stout ever.

The 2016 version is much less bourbon-forward, but still nice.

anstei (2510) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting, batch 1. Pours pitch black with almost no head left. Aroma is strong bourbon, ashes, tar, burnt. Body is strong, heavy, sweet and boozy. Bourbon juice. Still burnt, too much for my taste. Boozy palate. Well, this is certainly not a bad beer, but also not as good as it was hyped.
