Bottle. Rich gold colour. Soft in the mouth with rich fruity flavours and what tasted like goldings and cascade hops. Very drinkable. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2005
The aroma was old-fashioned treacle tart with a squeeze of lemon. Nice head and lovely gold colour. Sweetness(perhaps raspberry) in the taste merged agreeably into a medium bitter finish. mdachi (35) - Paderborn, GERMANY - DEC 14, 2007
Another 50 cl bottle in my favourite english pub. Aroma: A lot of aromatic hops then also some wine and honey aromas. Appearance: Golden and clear with stable white head. Flavor and Palate: The hops and hence also some bitterness dominate this beer. Sweetness is only behind these values. It is very nicely balanced and not much carbonated. Overall the flower notes make it a beer I like ordering again. HampshirePhil (254) - Portsmouth/London, Hampshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2013
500ml bottle - Sussex Gold has an immaculate golden colour, with a constant and heavy carbonation giving it a strong fizz. Light white head and ever so smooth, it is one of the lightest, refreshing and easiest to drink Southern ales on the market. Lovely! I_LUV_BEER (232) - - MAY 3, 2016
Served in a snifter from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma is citrus hops, honey, grass. Taste is citrus hops, hint of honey and elderflower. Light body with medium carbonation, perfectly balanced with pleasant slightly bitter aftertaste. Easy to drink and enjoyable. Nice one!

Bottle, 4.2%. Flowery aroma, perhaps a bit of elderflower. Cloudy yellow colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely flowery and faintly sweet. Subtle, but good and still flavourful. Good clean bitterness. harrisoni (19332) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2012 Bottle from sainsburys. Label says Arundel Sussex Gold and new logo. Golden beer lovely hop nose, all sorts of citrus flavours and green hop. Stunning. Lemon/lime/strawberry and then hoppy tingling finish. Gorgeous and my type of beer. 949518 4.5/5.0. Clearly I was on smack when I had this beer last time. Yes the hop is still there over a bit of a toasty aroma. Some toffee in the flavour. Some hop on end. Yes quite well balanced and quite drinkable. Failing to see why I went so mental over it last time. It’s a mid 3 at best. johndoughty (5543) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2006
Golden with hops dominating. Gentley bitter and slightly thin.Apart from the thinness this is a very presentable golden ale. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 13, 2006
Half pint pulled at GBBF, clear yellow with a large frothy head. A stewed fruits aroma. Sweet honey flavours come through with a good tangy mouthfeel and a sharp finish carrying grapefruit.
