Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #1. For the 2 or 3 of you who might care to read all or at least many of my at times recondite, often pretentious, sometimes silly, frequently stupid, and invariably overdone ratings, I will tell you that I kept on rating - at least, on occasion - for some time after disappearing into a black haze of my own making in the late 00s... though sadly you will not soon see dozens of Hill Farmstead ratings as I had pretty much (but not entirely) stopped bothering before they came on the scene. Sigh. Anyway, you may look forward to a few hundred "old" ratings of various length, quality and purpose over the next few weeks or months, starting with this one...

November 1, 2008, in my then-apartment in Burlington VT; bottle from Winooski Beverage, served very cold in a White Winter Winery glass. Noticeably hazy, thick-looking, faintly yellow, completely still...powerful medicinal/cherry cough syrup aroma initially that threatens to gag, but this is soon joined by coconut and bubblegum and becomes rather enticing...nutty, moderately sweet and lightly acidic to the tastebuds, quite full-bodies with just a nice little burn going down, a slightly gummy mouthfeel, and at the finish we perceive a bit of honey and a hint of citrus.

13.11.2015, 0,72l bottle sampled @ Umami Copenhagen:
Flat, slightly hazy coconut water colored. Aroma is mild and mellow, mild rice, yeast, minerals, alcohol, hints of citrus. Taste is mild and slightly sweet, rice, yeast, alcohol, minerals, hay, hints of citrus peel and paper. Slightly dry mouthfeel, nice warming alcohol touch. Nice.

It pours cloudy light-greenish yellow (almost champagne). The aroma has notes of: honeydew melons, sweet rice, alcohol, and blossom. The taste is medium sweet that finishes with light acidity; there are notes of; filtered honey, melons, green apples and rice alcohol. The palate is medium-light bodied, slight stickiness and a clean-delicate taste. Overall, very refined taste, that works with the flavours.
