Bottle asda. Black colour decent tan head great lacing. Aroma is mainly coffee abit o chocolate. Taste is same with roasted malts slight smokey dry bitter finish. Medium to thin body a bit too much carbonation for me. Not to my taste. DandyLion (518) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2013
Very dark beer with creamy brown head. Aroma of malt and coffee. Taste is malty, roasty with coffee. Quite bitter.

A very nice offering from Shepherd Neame. Very smooth, lovely, velvety mouthfeel, good carbonation, fine aroma, what does a good porter need more? Well, the label mine came with (not the one on the accompanying picture) was a bit cluttered, with maybe a tad too much suggestive ("rich, spice, chocolate") wording of the porter-cliché-kind. Don’t pay attention to it, this is a very good beer. allmyvinyl (10723) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 15, 2013
500ml bottle from Asda, Dunbar. pours dark brown with decent tan head. Lots of roasted coffee in the aromas, some caramelized sugar. Taste has a good roasted bitterness and more coffee. A little thin, but otherwise not bad. Pizd (435) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2013
(Bottle): Pours almost black with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, some light hints of nuts. Taste is mostly roasted malt base with coffee and dark chocolate. Some moderate bitterness to go along with it. Not bad, quite a basic porter.

Poured very dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roast malt and chocolate. Medium body, flavour as the aroma, quite dry and bitter. mr_h (5641) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - APR 27, 2013
500ml bottle from Asda, Ayr - clear very dark brown near black, rapidly diminishing beige head, roasted nutty malt and coffee aroma, similar flavours, between a mild and a porter, dry finish The_Bish (1123) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2013
Pretty good actually. Some chocolate and a nice richness to it. I do like porters. I drained my first. There’s something warm and comforting about them. Whitechapel Road. £4. Next to either -£200 or a chance. I rather take a chance, though that depends on what it’s on, if it’s on the chanteurs of Abba-esque I’ll send the £200 to wherever it needs to go. Chocolatey aroma which is a lovely thing, extremely dark ale almost black in colour, the head is frothy but dies down quickly very dry taste but medium bitterness, light sweetness as an undertone. medium body, soft carbonation, long finish, Beesbeer (452) - WALES - JAN 31, 2013
Absolutely average. Little aroma. Some smoke and liquorice flavours early on with horlicks malt and burnt sugar to follow.
