AROMA: toast, roasty, hint of coffee, chocolate,
APPEARANCE: black, minimal head,
TASTE: medium bitterness, lightly sour,
PALATE: light body, thin feel, lively, bitter, dry
OVERALL: little to know aroma, has hints of aroma/tastes of a porter but lacks body and character. Finished half of a pint. Imaena (2359) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - JAN 2, 2013
Bottle...from ASDA obviously. This is very thin for a porter and there was not enough roasted malt flavor for my taste. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 25, 2012

Opaque black beer, small tan head. Light dry palate. Mild dark malt with traces of roast and coffee. Some sweeter malt as well and a little bubblegum ester underneath. Dry finish with a bitter malt and hop snap. Too dry, but okay.
Bottle. Almost black beer. Aroma of chococoffee. The taste is of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate and greek coffee. Typical of the Porters I am used to. The palate is a little weak however. Overall a good beer, a style I like. Dommod2011 (728) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2012
Okay, let’s deal with the elephant in the room. I went here to get a Caesar salad. The assistant said they didn’t stock it in this branch but he would phone the Cov Rd store and they would put one on the side for me. 5 miles for a bag of salad. Not for me, thanks, but cheers for the offer. That was Thursday. Today is slightly fizzy chocolate flavoured porter day. I wouldn’t drive 5 miles for this either. Got the salad from Sainsbury in the end.

I’ve recently tried a lot of different ales but this one really stood out amoungst the rest for me. It has an almost chocolatey/coffee taste to it. Very dark in colour. It’s one of those ales you could sit and drink all night. MichaelAwesome (6545) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - SEP 19, 2012
Bottle shared with McTapps. Dark as the night this one comes with dark chocolate aroma and a bit coffee. Still very drinkable and quaff. Nice :-) McTapps (6976) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - SEP 19, 2012
Bottle bought at Asda, shared with hubby. Turned out to be the best beer from Sheperd Neame until now.... Aroma of sweetened espresso. Taste of black coffee (European style, not the one you get in the UK) and roasted nuts. Easy to drink, really nice. Down2die (109) - IRELAND - SEP 2, 2012
bottle from asda 5.2. toffee nose. roast and choc malts slight citrus hop with a dry finish. not bad .....not really had many porters to compare in fairness BlackHaddock (7690) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2012
Clear 500ml bottle, best before May 2008, drank on a wet and windy evening in Shropshire on 7th Jan 2008.
Poured into a pint sleeve glass.
Very dark ruby red colour with a wonderful foaming deep head, light brown in colour.
The aroma is weak and watery a few malt and hops around but nothing to shout about. A sweet biscuit smell comes later.
There is a hint of burn toast in the taste and some burnt caramel too, but not a sweet porter by any means.
It looked so good, what a pity it is such a watery product with no depth or rich feel to it. I am only having two beers a week during Jan 2008 and I have wasted one on this bottle, bugger!
