UPDATED: FEB 4, 2013 (Clear glass bottle) Isn’t this stuff just ’Shepherd Neame’ Porter ? Anyway what ever the hell its agreeable -with its rich and bitter qualities -burnt things -probably malts . Good one considering its a lowly beer made by a boring brewery for ’supermarkets’. SaintMatty (7300) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - JAN 15, 2009
500ml Bottle - Very dark brown, almost black, with some red tinges. Light roasted malt aroma with some chocolate and coffee. Roasted taste with chocolate and a hint of coffee. Fairly smooth. joe19612 (2900) - camberley, Surrey, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2009
Bottle. Real roasted malt aroma, good classic porter colour, malty with a very smooth texture. mike_77 (6581) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - JAN 6, 2009
Deep, dark brown colour with thin creamy head. Some hop citric acidity detectable in the aroma. Flavour has masses of roasted malt and has a hint of coffee in the aftertaste. Bart (2938) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 29, 2008
Bottle, Black coloured beer with some average carbonation and a large brown head. Coffee and caramel roasted malty, rather strong sweet aroma. Full creamy palate. Finish is creamy, strong roasted caramel with some light spicy touches and a special strong ending.

Dark brown in colour with ruby tones and a big, fluffy tan head. Sweet malt and dark fruit aroma. Flavour was sweet, with some chocolate, roastiness and an abrupt bitter finish. Ok. Pyobon (1392) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - SEP 17, 2008
Bottle. Very dark brown with beige long-lasting head. Dark, smoky / roasted malt aroma. Medium body with plenty of fine carbonation. Rich with a sharp and bitter edge giving good balance. Malty with fruit and some dark chocolate / coffee notes with a bitter finish. Well balanced, but Porter is not my favourite style. beerbros (1) - Oxton, Merseyside, ENGLAND - JUN 8, 2008 does not count
This fine beer may only be bettered by a second. Good head, strong ale but does not compromise the great flavour, iansonuk (1) - Poole, ENGLAND - APR 5, 2008 does not count
A strong, hoppy ale, with just enough bite to avoid being considered bland. Similar in flavour to Bath Ales’s ’Barnstormer’, (though alas slightly inferior in my opinion).
