Absolutely average. Little aroma. Some smoke and liquorice flavours early on with horlicks malt and burnt sugar to follow.
Clear 500ml bottle at home in Blaendulais listening to Krishna Das. As ’Asda Extra Special Whitechapel Porter’, 5.2%, undated, brewed at Shepherd Neame. Pours like cola to form an opaque black beer with a dense creamy brown head that endures permanently and leaves thick lacing. Aroma is bourbon biscuits and chocolate truffles, ashy notes. Smells pretty inviting. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is a little thin and metallic up front, then some soft toffee and liquorice notes, ashy earthy finish. Not far away from being pretty accomplished. Looks and smells like the real deal and then falls away. Really grows on you though. (6-4-6-4-14=3.4) Cybion (190) - Kent, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2017
Bottle, 500 ml. Pours clear dark brown with a large amount of dense but lively tan head. Lots of visible carb, small bubbles. Patchy lacing. Aroma is light, not too bitter cocoa or chocolate with light caramel and a slight hint of roasted malt. Bit of a damp carboard edge, developing into something similar to swimming pool chlorine later, which is a definite negative. Taste is sweet with a heftier caramel, molasses, and a hint of coffee and a more bitter/roasted malt at the back. Body is light, texture is watery as is the finish, which isn’t really suited to this style. No carbonation either. Taste isn’t unpleasant but nothing to write home about nocturnale (12) - Prudhoe, Northumberland, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2016
Pours a very deep ruby. Aroma is coffee and chocolate with a light caramel. Taste is mainly coffee with a light chocolate and caramel character, a little bitterness. OK. Gaelic (194) - Rotterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2015
Dark brown, black porter with white head. Taste of chocolate, roast. Not a thick porter, a bit boring for me. I missed the dry after taste. MarcinG (946) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 29, 2015
Dobry porter moze troche zbyt wodnisty. Ciemny w barwie z palona piana ktora utrzymuje sie dosc dlugo. Wyrazna goryczka z nuta czekolady.przyjemny w smaku .

Watered down porter beer with a brown color. Can see through the glass thanks to perfect filtering. In aroma I sense typical for a bitter style notes with the addition to milk chocolate. Taste is malty with short finish. There is dough, chocolate and some delicate milk coffee. Far from interesting. SangreSani (485) - Głowienka, POLAND - AUG 6, 2015
Pours brown, almost black in glass. Beautiful, beige head.
Mainly chocolate in aroma
Chocolate and coffee flavor. Sweet taste, lighty bitter finish.
Rich carbonation, body above medium.
It has quite low ABV for a porter. chinchill (5175) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 3, 2015
500 ml clear bottle purchased and enjoyed in Fife, Scotland.
Very dark; nearly opaque in my Sweetwater pint glass.
Aroma: lightly smoky and sweet, with a suggestion of smoked meat.
Flavor: a bit too smoky, with bittersweet chocolate and faint spiciness
The smoky aftertaste suggests black bread plus faint hints of chocolate and coffee.
Medium body and carbonation.
O: a smoky porter. mariuszek (1459) - Gdynia, POLAND - APR 15, 2015
Pours clear, ruby brown, thin head, some lacing. Nice aroma of roasted malt with some coffee and cereals. Roasted malt in taste balanced by sour notes, medium carbonation, medium bitter finish. Good brew. redders1974 (1550) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2015
