From the flames, escaped a great mind. Out of the smoke, a wild spirit was set free. An intellectual by day, the original flapper by night, one great AVL alum celebrated the grand elegance of Parisian spectacle. Our homage is an imperial tribute to the classic golden saison of Wallonia, where European wheat and French-grown hops forge a depiction of herb gardens, citrus fruit and blended peppercorns. Its grandeur is deserved of your wildest spirit so let it all out.

Bottle. Clear golden amber color. Aroma of earthy dust, barnyard overripe fruit. Taste starts fruity, peppery, dusty and sweet, but dries out toward the finish. Tasty.

Bottle shared at RBWG 2014 Late Night tasting - Asheville. Pours hazy gold with a light, creamy head. Rich beer with floral accents, bready malts, white sugar, yeast. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately warming on the finish with more rich, pale bread, mild alcohol, yeasty dough, light fruit notes. Good but would probably be better if it hadnt been imperialised.

Bottle - Gold malts and yeast. Cloudy fold with a thin head. Big boozy light malts and a ton of yeast. I am not a fan of this style but it is done well.

Bottle at home. Pours very clear copper with a large, creamy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is flowers, herbal and woody hops, black pepper, earthy wheat malt, light biscuit malt notes, and cooked pears. Flavor is sweet malt, lightly stale and earthy hops, lively black pepper, aged flowers, overripe fruit, and a medium, drying finish. Medium body and carbonation. Overall, this beer holds a bit too much upfront sweetness despite finishing somewhat dry. The esters are muted, and the hops are definitely an afterthought.

22 oz bottle shared by?? Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have a sweet Belgian yeast, sweet esters, some fruity notes, slight hay, not as herbal as most saisons. Good, not great.

Bottle shared up in the Aloft Beer Fart Dungeon, I think by Travlr (?). Pours a gold color with a small white head. Notes of wheat, cereal, corn, sugar- like a sweet breakfast cereal. Too sugary and sweet. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, malty mouthfeel. Pretty one-note and disappointing.

Bottleshare in Asheville. Quite soupy. Earthy saison yeast dominates the nose. The taste is fairly neutral. Some melon and pear. Spring harvest. More yeast. Medium body, sort of ruddy. OK.
