Draft. Golden color, small white head. Aroma has peppers. The peppers sneak up on you in the taste fairly quickly, then keeps building. Nice bite to this one. changeup45 (1731) - Lake Mary, Florida, USA - JUL 6, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2012 Draft. This is their Escape Artist with jalapeños added. It certainly smells spicy and peppery; what you would expect from a jalapeño beer. It’s not as spicy and peppery in the flavor; toned down from the aroma but there’s still some jalapeño heat. Caramel mingles in. Interesting beer. Amber color with a white head. Aroma contains some citrus, peppers, and caramel. The flavor has some herbal notes with some jalapenos and lemons. An interesting beer to wash these 5 alarm freakin chicken fingers. Oooooph son. radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - AUG 21, 2015
Draft at their brewpub, hazy orangy-golden color with off-white head. Aroma notes of citrus hops, jalapenos and caramel malt. Taste adds light pepper heat and light earthy/herbal bitterness. Light-medium body, low-moderate carbonation, dry with light spice finish. Very nice lighter pepper beer. radagast83 (8002) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 24, 2015
Draft at the Coxe Ave location. Poured a slightly dark, slightly translucent orange color with a small fluffy white head. Aroma was light roasted pepper, no heat, just some of the fruit with a touch of light sweet malts. Flavor was subtle heat, some pleasant pepper notes with a malty finish.

Would like more heat in this, but the flavor and nose are solid, fruity and floral, lots of pepper and earthy finish. Light to moderate in terms on heat/ beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Draft at brewer. Copper pour with a thick white head. Big pepper smell. Taste is mellow then fire. Different and better than most pepper brews. SpringsLicker (3612) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 17, 2012
The version I sampled was run through a Cilantro & Lime mini-Randall.
The aroma was fresh cilantro.
The flavor was like a mouth full of beer and salsa. The Jalapenos kick in as a subtle yet firm burn on the tongue that kicks in about the third swallow.
I think I would prefer the unfiltered version and would rate it accordingly better. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Beer #9 Asheville trip. Lightly hazy orange. Aroma is lightly of caramel malts. Flavor is light caramel malts, that are slowly destroyed by a lingering heat. Can’t say the jalapeno did much for flavor, really just making it hot. Not a big fan of chili pepper beers, and this one just confirmed my general bias against them. arventresca (567) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Tried with a sample at one of the breweries. Not bad. A little spicy, but very mild overall.
