COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Everyone loves a good ninja, and we’re no exception. This beer has chopped, flipped and posed its way to its pedestal as one of our most popular and asked-about offerings. "How?" you may ask. Part of it is pure stealth power and part of it is pure secret, and we’d have to kill you. But the other part is the rich, satisfying body and hard-hitting chocolate finish with notes of coffee and caramel. Carefully measured quantities of Mt. Hood, Northern Brewer and Cascade hops added with masterful precision balance it all out.

3 Oz sample at Bonnaroo. Really great porter, very roasty and chocolatey tastes, still was light enough to drink in the heat. I love this beer and wished I could find it up north, great porter

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells chocolatey and earthy with some spicy hints. Tastes of dark fruit, chocolatey and spicy with a velvety mouthfeel and an earthy finish.

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown pour. Roasty malt character. Decent porter.

Typical porter color with large head and full lacing. Taste is one-trick, mostly bitter chocolate, needing no hops to increase bitter in the finish. Drinkable, but not memorable.

Draft. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Scent is light (oh no) roasted malts. Taste is the same, decent but not anything exciting.

Light crystal malt aroma. Deep brown in color. Basically a run-of-the-mill porter.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate and smooth roasted malt. Flavor of chocolate, diacetyl, and roasted malt. Kind of bland and the diacetyl was off-putting (although not too dominant). A drinkable beer but it took me forever to finish the pint. 6/4/6/3/13 [3.2/5]

Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2010
Bottle. Pours a deep woody brown nearing black with a thin lasting beige head. Aroma is nutty, old earthy espresso and coffee hints, big chocolate, toast, and osme herbs. Flavor is nice nutty toasted malts, dark chocolate, tootsie roll sweetness, earth, light roast and coffee with light herbal and some citrus hops. Mild bitterness in the end.

22oz bottle, 2010-10-02 - Pours dark brown to near black with reddish hues and a big fluffy tan head. Notes of tart fruit, lightly sour, winey, tannic, acidic malt. Medium bodied, tart with lively carbonation.
