Jet black pour with a small tan head...Chocolate coffeeish aroma...Medium body, creamy mouthfeel...chocolate flavors with some burnt charcoal in the finish...Mild carbonation...Good porter... DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - JUN 1, 2009
Bomber on 5/5/09. Black with ruby highlights and a large frothy head. Coffee aroma with some subdued chocolate. Medium body and carbonation, but the mouthfeel is a little thin. Some burnt sugar flavors and a malt based bitterness that is accentuated by a hoppy dryness in the finish. Drinkable, but kind of one dimensional. j12601 (10871) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 7, 2009
Bottle at a tasting at Andy’s, I think Paul brought this one. Pours a deep black with a light tan head. Notes of smoke, roast, and some esters. Nice thick body on this one, though it thins out a bit as it warms. Nice roast. PilsnerPeter (3045) - Flushing, New York, USA - MAY 7, 2009
Bottle shared by Dickinsonbeer: Brown ruby pour with a wispy tan head. Simple crystal aroma- toasted and one dimensional. Light feel- thinish. Nice porter flavor- chocolaty, nutty, dark/roasted crystal malt with mild husky notes. A simple but solid porter. puzzl (3258) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 3, 2009
Bottle from Dickinsonbeer. Rich, chocolatey, chalky aroma, mostly dry, a touch of peanut. Dry, full, clean flavor, not too rich but pretty decent, a touch milky and chalky, easy drinking, fairly mild, a touch bitter. Enjoyable.

Pours black with a tan head. Has a weak chocolate aroma. A bit watery and lacking flavor all around. maltdog (626) - New Mexico, USA - APR 6, 2009
22 ounce bottle purchased at brewery. Looks like porter. Lucious roasty-sweet nose showcases chocolate and coffee, plus nuances of fig and bubblegum. Fruity, roasty, and cola flavors. Clean Finish, mldly bitter aftertaste. Although the beer starts out nicely, as carbonation wanes it becomes as one-dimensional, and most of the bottle is just limp and caramelly as flat Coke. Medium-light body, smooth and slick. Pleasant beer, nothing special. RollinHard (1024) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - MAR 31, 2009
Pours black with a fairly small light tan head. Big hops on the nose, highly roasted coffee, and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate taste, moderate coffee, a good amount of pine that works fairly well. Medium bodied and creamy, I thought this was pretty good. Think a lighter Black Sun Stout. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 21, 2009
(22oz bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of ash, roasted malt, grass, grapefruit, pine, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor of roasted malt, ash, cocoa, and hops (grass, some citrus) with a dry finish. SpringsLicker (3612) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 18, 2009
Very dark brown with a thin tan head.
Espresso roast coffee aroma.
Slightly bitter with lots of coffee and dry dark chocolate flavors.
A bit thin.
