Originally reviewed: 1/14/10. Another of the offerings I had at the brewpub the other night. Came out a dark black with a bit of light around the edges. Small tan head capped it off. Sip rings and lace present. Scents of coffee, milk chocolate, and dark breads.
Another full-bodied beer here. I like the depth of this. This is definitely a more coffee-forward beer. Flavors of espresso, pumpernickel bread, and graham crackers. This was my favorite offering of the night I think. Well done! GnarlyGnome (770) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - MAR 8, 2012
Draft, sampler: a tad boring, pours dark brown with a tasty looking tan head. It smells chocolaty, and roasty, but leaves you wishing for it in the flavor. edgallow (4312) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Draft sampler pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and a hint of spice. Taste is much of the same.

Draft. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Roasted malty aroma with fresh coffee and light dark chocolate. The flavor has dark chocolate sweetness, roasted malts, and coffee. Good stuff. hellbilly (3247) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Asheville ninja porter 7/16/11.
$4 @ bruisin ales
Porter color with a soft beige head.
A nutty caramel creams, dried sage?/odd herbaceous-ness, roast, buttery.
F spicy hoppy finish, lingering buttered roastiness, toasted nuts, dark herbal digestif, roots and rootbeer.
Lighter than medium bodied, crisp, spicy, light ashy dryness
Something weird about this one.

Draft. Murky brown color, tan head. Aroma of chocolate and light spice. Taste is similar. More of a stout than a porter. Braudog (6793) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Draft at the Coxe location. Standard brewpub porter visuals. Good flavor with bitter chocolate, roast and cream all making a showing of it. Among the ones I’d choose on a return. (#4298, 10/5/2011) Jow (3998) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 26, 2011
On tap at Asheville Airport as part of sampler. Pours a standard porter color. tastes of roasted malt, chocolate, earth, leather, some spice, and coffee. nice tasty porter magsinva (1418) - Virginia, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Tap at Asheville brewing - pours a dark brown with a off white head. Served too cold, so I’m not getting alot on the nose other than chocolate and malt. Taste is smokey bitterness that gently lingers. Palate is astringent and smooth, weird. Overall an average porter. DiarmaidBHK (5459) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Pours dark dark brown with a thin brown head. Slight hints of malt on the nose. A bit of chocolate on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid but not spectacular.
