On tap @ Barley’s - Asheville. Dark brown in color with a khaki head. There’s a good bit of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate/cocoa powder. Slight sweetness to it. Maybe a touch of burnt toast, too. There’s some nutty sweetness along with toasted malts and a hint of molasses. Decent enough bitterness of roasted malts and the associated coffee/chocolate characteristics. It’s decent enough.

Bomber from Bruisin Ales. Pours pretty dark brown with a creamy frothy beige head that deconstructs in a weird way. Aromas of chocolate and burnt malt, with something suggesting a little sour - or maybe it’s coffee. Med minus body. Flavor is ashy chocolate with some burnt malt and coffee. Seems halfway between stout and porter. Maybe a little bit of lactose in the finish - or something that suggests that. Nice porter. Ratman197 (15870) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - NOV 9, 2009
