This isn’t an IPA, but then the brewer does’t call it one. It should probably be listsed as American pale ale like it’t described in the description. Slighty toasted bread malt is balanced by a nice bitterness, but the aroma is a bit weak. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JUN 30, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Attractive hazy orange color with thick foamy head that laced the glass. Delicious floral/citrusy hop aroma. Hop flavor is dominant with a soft malty caramel flavor in the backround. Bitter hop finish with a nice cereal grain aftertaste. Very good. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 2, 2005
On tap at the brewpub. This one is now called "Red Light IPA." This is darker in color than the Shiva IPA as it is amber. Also, a bit maltier than the Shiva with much more of a robust bitter finish. Good boiling hop content. Only drawback is a slight grainy flavor. Delicious! NachlamSie (3534) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 14, 2006
draught. Pours a cloudy amber with a frothy white head. There’s grapefruit and a bit of pine in the nose. More grapefruit in the flavor, bit of twigs, some butter toffee, the hops are semi-biting. Not bad. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - AUG 31, 2009
Appearance: Hazy orange with a foamy, white head. Decent retention and great lacing.
Aroma: Slight pine notes, a little biscuit. Fairly straight forward.
Taste: Light biscuit notes from the malt side, Herbal, grass, and pine notes from the hops. Nice back bitterness.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light, dry mouthfeel.
Overall: This one seemed to have some alt characteristics to me. Still, a pretty decent brew.
Rebuy: If I happen to stop by the brewery I wouldn’t mind having another one of these.

Draft at Merrimon. Gold color with an off white head. Scent is citrus, bread and caramel. Taste is bready/citrus. One of the better beers here imho. Shag (3036) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - OCT 11, 2013
This poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma contains some citrus and caramel. The flavor is slightly bitter with a citrus presence. There is some caramel and dark fruits in the background. Overall a nice session beer. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2010
