On tap at brewpub. Hazy red golden with white head. Smell is light grain and sweet malty with hoppy pine and floral. Taste is caramel malty with hoppy pine, grapefruit and floral. Dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation. Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 2, 2006
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2006 Red, as the name implies. But not particularly light, so I suppose that portion of the name is a bit of a misnomer. Also kinda cloudy, which isn’t even addressed in name. If you want, you could call it "Red Cloud IPA" and be much more accurate. Anyway, smells kind of peppery and citrusy, with a hint of cedar. Stoney, piney hops dominate the flavor, with just a hint of cereal maltiness as well as a touch of caramel. Very tasty brew. BlackDonald (1126) - Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA - JAN 23, 2008
Tap @ brewpub - This is much more aggreeable than the Shiva. Deeper in color with a stronger maltiness and what seems to be a more complimentary hop profile. Has more upfront fruitiness, but has a bitter bite in the finish. Decent, but needs food. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 28, 2008
on tap at Asheville Pizza on 3/22. Nice standard IPA that doesn’t offer anything special or spectacular, but does it’s job well... a clean, slightly hoppy and refreshing beer that goes great with the wonderful pizza this place puts out... beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - MAY 9, 2011
Draft at Merrimon. Gold color with an off white head. Scent is citrus, bread and caramel. Taste is bready/citrus. One of the better beers here imho.

Draft @ the brewpub on Coxe Ave, Asheville, NC. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus finish. beerme31 (685) - Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Draft. Pours dark golden thin lacing. Nice aroma of citrus and floral. Medium sweet flavor. Medium body, medium bitter hop finish. Nice balance and good pale ale overall. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - AUG 31, 2009
Appearance: Hazy orange with a foamy, white head. Decent retention and great lacing.
Aroma: Slight pine notes, a little biscuit. Fairly straight forward.
Taste: Light biscuit notes from the malt side, Herbal, grass, and pine notes from the hops. Nice back bitterness.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium-light, dry mouthfeel.
Overall: This one seemed to have some alt characteristics to me. Still, a pretty decent brew.
Rebuy: If I happen to stop by the brewery I wouldn’t mind having another one of these. blipp (9278) - La Mesa, California, USA - JAN 13, 2012
Draft. Pours amber orange with a white head. Citric hoppy aroma with a hint of pine and sweet malts. The flavor has floral hops, a hint of marijuana, and sweet malts. Not bad. PaperKnife (82) - - MAY 29, 2012
