COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The destroyer, the creator, the benefactor. Shiva is all these things. We set out to create an IPA that anyone can enjoy, and we think we succeeded. As the flagship beer in our lineup, we’ve yet to encounter a soul who believes contrary. A crisp, citrusy Indian Pale Ale with a light color, Shiva will destroy all your preconceptions of an IPA. A transcendentally simple malt bill accents a generous helping of Columbus hops, lending an intense floral aroma with hints of grapefruit and a pleasant bittering quality. Your palette will be lifted to higher planes of consciousness with a bittersweet finish.

Draft. Hazy golden color medium white head. Aroma of floral and citrus. Enjoyable sweet flavor up front. Crisp finish, very mild bitter with fruit notes. Overall nice beer a little more bitter finish would be nice.

22 oz. bomber served in a snifter (from 2012 notes). A: Amber/orange body with some visible carbonation. Very nice and fluffy yellow-tinged, off-white head that reduces to a patchy but lasting film and leaves lacy lacing on the glass. S: Citrus fruit, vague herbs and grasses over a light toasted bread. A mild bit of alcohol appeared after warming, as does a bit of dank/metaliic tint. T: The hops produce a juicy citrus mix with lemon, orange and grapefruit notes, plus hints of pine. Subtle but good malt backbone tempers the bitterness, although it finishes with a mild hop bitterness. M: Medium bodied; slightly sticky; low (probably too low) carbonation; smooth. The finish is slightly dry. O: An excellent, full flavored PA. As an American IPA, it’s a bit under-hopped. Still, Shiva has a tasty, well-balanced mix of citrus hops and medium-to-light roast malt that should satisfy folks who aren’t hellbent on a strong hop hit.

12oz can. Hazy yellow-orange, lingering white head. Piney aroma, followed by malty, sweet flavors quickly giving way to more grapefruity hops. Sticky, bittersweet finish.

Really not where you’d want to be for an ipa these days. Aroma is faint. Taste is sort of a strange bitterness... I like the art work!

On tap @ 12 Bones. Pours hazy dark golden amber with thin creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet nutty earthy fresh caramel malt, light crisp hops. Taste is clean fresh malt, hops are fresh and lightly punchy. Not bad, but way more malt forward than typical for an IPA.

Lots of citrus peel and some pepper. Pours orange with ok head. Bitter finish. Tap at Papas and Beer. Tempers the salsa spice a little.

12oz can from ck1, thanks bro! Sweet malts, fruit. Light pine. Some sour stone fruit involved. Solid with a touch of basement. 13

Meh...a little substandard for a fresh ipa. Prefered every other hoppy brew they made to this. Lightly citrus floral and bitter, but boring.
